With Derek Carr coming off a broken leg, many USA sportsbook players had mixed feelings about this year’s Oakland Raiders. Both teams will be looking to further their standing in the divisional race this weekend. The Oakland Raiders are currently in a 3-way tie with the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos for the top spot in the division. On the other hand, the 1-1 Washington Redskins cannot afford to lose any more ground in the NFC East. As expected, the Raiders have one of the best offenses in the league. Right now Oakland is 1st in scoring, and that’s all thanks to their lineup consisting of Derek Carr, Marshawn Lynch and Michael Crabtree. The biggest obstacle Oakland faced last season was their defense, which habitually placed them in a losing position. Oftentimes it was up to Carr to pull them out of these deep waters but we haven’t really seen that this season. Granted it’s only Week 2 and the Raiders haven’t faced the most threatening of opponents. This Sunday’s game against Kirk Cousins and company should help clarify where their defense stands.
Betting Washington
The Redskins opened the season on a loss against their NFC East rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles. The following week, Washington managed to stay competitive in the division by winning a close 27-20 contest against the Los Angeles Rams. Unfortunately we haven’t seen enough consistency out of the Redskins to know what to expect this Sunday. But it’s probably still not a wise idea to pick them over the Raiders.
