As online NFL betting fans prepare to stuff their face with turkey this Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys will be preparing to host the Los Angeles Chargers to bring us this annual Thanksgiving tradition. The nation is always excited to see the Cowboys play but considering the struggles that Dallas has been contending with these last couple of days; NFL bettors might be tuning in to watch the Cowboys lose this Thursday. Let’s take a look at what the latest sportsbook news are predicting for this Thursday’s Thanksgiving pairing.

Betting Los Angeles

The Chargers charge into this Week 12 matchup sporting a 4-6 record that ranks them 2nd in the AFC West despite the fact that it’s a losing record. At the moment, the Kansas City Chiefs lead the division with their 6-4 record that keeps getting worse each week. In fact, if things keep falling in Los Angeles favor, it would not be impossible for the Chargers to usurp the Chiefs in the division. However, the Chargers will also have to fight off the Oakland Raiders who share their 4-6 record.

Surprisingly enough, despite the fact that the Cowboys have a slightly better record than their West Coast opponent, the US online sportsbook odds are slightly favoring LA over Dallas. This is largely in part to the 54-24 romping the Chargers gave the Bills this past Sunday. The Bills are not the most elite team in pro football, but San Diego looked poised, collected, and finally on the same page. Ultimately, that game gave us a glimpse of what this San Diego team is capable of when they’re clicking and it’s something the Cowboys would rather not deal with – especially on Thanksgiving.

Betting Dallas

The Cowboys are sitting on a 5-5 record that is expected to take a dip as the season drags on and it’s all Jerry Jones fault. Before this season began, Jones decided to use his star running back, Ezekiel Elliott, in a pawn to settle a growing vendetta against NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Goodell has had to maneuver the league throw some dire controversy and the commissioner has never had too many complaints about his rulings – that is until now. Goodell handed a 6 game suspension to Elliott for unproven accounts of domestic abuse, with unproven being the key word here. But it didn’t matter if the claims against Elliott were baseless, the collective bargaining agreement between the league and it’s players grants Goodell that type of power. But since Jones decided that there was no way on Earth he was going to let this suspension go through, he tried to use Elliott to further his agenda.

The only US online sportsbook problem is that the fight against the suspension, like many were predicting, ended in an utter failure. What’s worse is the fact that Elliott is now sidelined half way through the season when his team needed him most. Had the Cowboys, or rather their owner, bit their tongue and served the suspension: Dallas might be in a position to compete for a spot in the playoffs. Instead, sports betting sites are pegging them as underdogs against a team with a losing record.

US Online Sportsbook Betting Lines & Odds:

Dallas Cowboys +1 (-110)    47 ½ (-107)     -102
