The Los Angeles Rams came through in a big way for online sportsbook players who bet on the underdog in Week 1. The Rams were coming off a 4-12 record and the best online sportsbooks for American players felt like they stood no chance against Andy Luck and the Indianapolis Colts in 2017’s opening week. Nevertheless, Los Angeles delivered the biggest upset of the weekend when they stunned the online NFL betting community by handing Indy a 46-9 pounding.
Naturally, NFL betting players who favored the Rams cashed in big on their underdog odds and it only follows that those same players will be looking to wager on Los Angeles in Week 2. However, it seems that the top sportsbooks have learned not to overwhelmingly rule out Los Angeles. In fact, in this weekend’s contest versus the Washington Redskins, online sportsbooks are pegging the Rams as the favorite.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Washington Redskins – Sunday, September 17th
Venue: LA Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles
Start Time: 4:25 pm ET
TV Broadcast: Fox
Online Streaming Options: Fox Sports Go, NFL Game Pass
This will be the Rams second stint defending their home turf this season and if they put on the same kind of show they did last time, Los Angeles won’t have any problem selling out seats this season. Not that they’ve really had a problem with that in the past, but Los Angeles is a ‘winning’ town.
Winning is one thing the Redskins didn’t do in their opening week. Instead, Washington failed to win a close game with their NFC East rival’s the Philadelphia Eagles. With Philly and Dallas both winning their Week 1 matches, the Redskins will need a win this Sunday lest risk falling behind in one of the most competitive divisions in pro football. Unfortunately for Washington, the best online sportsbooks for American players don’t think they’ll come out on top this Sunday.
Online Sportsbook Betting Odds:
Los Angeles Rams -2 ½ (-115) 46 (-110) -150
Washington Redskins +2 ½ (-105) 46 (-110) +130
Betting Los Angeles
The Rams put on quite a show in their 2017 debut; 373 yards on offense, 46 points – 4 of which came from the defense, and a dominant performance in time of possession. But online NFL betting fans aren’t sure if this was a fluke or if this is a changing of the tide for Los Angeles. The Rams haven’t delivered a winning season in 14 years but with the Seahawks, Cardinals and 49ers all losing their opening week matchups, the NFC West currently belongs to the Rams.
The Redskins had an abysmal start to the 2017 season. Washington finished their game against the Eagles with less than 300 yards of total offense, committed 4 turnovers on the day, and lost a much-needed win versus a divisional opponent by 2 possessions. Washington could still compete in the NFC East, but they’ll definitely need a complete turnaround.
Best Online Sportsbook Predictions: The 2016 Redskins might have been able to compete with the Rams, but we can’t be so sure about this year’s squad. Stick to the Rams on the spread or the under on the totals.
