Heading into the NBA trade deadline, most US sportsbook players knew we were going to be treated to a fair share of surprises. However, what we didn’t expect was to see the Cleveland Cavaliers come out of the trade deadline as the best team in the Eastern Conference. After all, the Cavs had looked mediocre all season. But sure enough, LeBron James, once again, did all he could to surround himself with better talent and better teammates. And in the end, the Cavs are No. 1 once again – at least in the East.

Despite the fact that the Cavs are no ubiquitously considered the best team in the East, they still don’t have what it takes to topple Golden State, at least not in the eyes of the public. With that in mind, there will be ample pressure on the Warriors to prove that they are the best each time they take to the court. In other words, Golden State needs to blowout the Portland Trail Blazers this Wednesday night. Let’s take a look at how well Portland matches up against the reigning NBA champions.

Betting Golden State

The Warriors enter this Western Conference pairing sporting a 44-13 record that ranks them No. 1 in the Pacific Division, Western Conference, and even pegs them as the winningest team in the NBA. It’s hard to be No. 1 but Golden State does it better than anyone. The Warriors’ biggest strength comes from how dominant they are across the board. Simply put, you cannot completely shutout Golden State. If you try to take away Steph Curry and Klay Thompson’s shooting, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant will beat you at the rim. If you try to guard the paint, you leave yourself wide open for a flurry of threes. This is the very reason why Golden State is still No. 1 in the eyes of US sportsbooks.

Betting Portland

The Trailblazers blaze into this Wednesday night matchup flashing a disappointing 31-26 record that ranks them 3rd in the Northwest Division but 6th overall in the Western Conference. Throughout the season, Portland has delivered small moments of brilliance. Unfortunately for the Trail Blazes, they haven’t been able to maintain those moments, oftentimes losing steam. For example, Portland recently had a 4-game win streak crumble away to 3-straight losses. On top of that, Portland is 2-2 in their last 4. Facing a team as dominant as the Warriors, it’s pretty clear which team the best online sportsbook players will be backing this Wednesday night.
