2020 Belmont Stakes Betting Odds and Analysis

Fashion the unique circumstances for betting this race at Best online sportsbooks. Some horses have plenty of rest and others have already run this month. On the whole Tiz the Law has a record that is impossible for gamblers to ignore.

Tiz the Law

Barclay Tagg trained Tiz the Law is well-rested and with a top form record. However, the question is whether or not Tiz the Law is too well-rested. He last ran on March 28 in a Grade 1 win at the Florida Derby. Prior to that was a Grade 3 win in the Holy Bull on February 1. Both of those races took place at Gulfstream Park.

A clear difference for Tiz the Law was the one race he didn’t win. November 30 was a third-place finish at the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club at Churchill Downs. First place at the Grade 1 Champagne at Belmont may impress handicappers as much as anything on the resume. That win was on October 5. Fashion the connection to the same track as Saturday’s race. Overall Tiz the Law has four wins in five starts with over $945,000 in earnings.

Sole Volante

Four wins in six starts at US sportsbooks give Sole Volante plenty of betting consideration. Last time out was an allowance win at Gulfstream Park on June 10. Such a recent run sets this horse apart from more rested competitors. For his career, Sole Volante has over $293,000 in earnings. Most important of all was a Grade 3 win in the Sam F. Davis on February 8. At the Grade 2 Tampa Bay Downs on March 7 Sole Volante finished second.

Dr. Post

Commencing with back to back wins in his last two starts has Dr. Post attracted attention. Trainer Todd A. Pletcher is another factor drawing public betting dollars. Dr. Post is coming off an April 25 win at the Unbridled. Gulfstream Park was the venue. While on March 29 Dr. Post was the winner of a maiden race. In sum Dr. Post has over $76,000 in earnings. What has bettors concerned is the fact that he is yet to run in a graded stakes race.

Tap it to Win

First, Tap it to Win got the draw for the number one starting position. He has career earnings of over $124,000. Tap it to Win has two wins in his last two starts. Last time out was June 4 with an allowance win at Belmont Park that was a mile and sixteenth in length. Gamblers will no doubt take notice of that connection. Before that was a May 9 six-furlong allowance win at Gulfstream Park.

Of major concern was a 10th place finish in the Grade 1 Breeders Futurity. That October 5 race was the best field that Tap it to Win has been up against. It serves to tarnish those last two wins against weaker competition in the eyes of gamblers.

Pneumatic

Namely Hall of Fame trainer Steven A. Asmussen trains Pneumatic. That means increased public betting money flowing towards him. Pneumatic was the winner of a 1-mile allowance at Oaklawn Park on April 11. Balanced against that was a third-place finish at Churchill Downs May 23.
