Betting Tennessee Titans
The Titans’ initial 53-man roster is one of the oldest in the league. Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice calculated the average age of every team’s initial 53-man roster. The average age of players on Tennessee’s roster is 26.5 years. That is the fifth-oldest in the NFL. That average age also turns out to be the exact same as it was last year. This isn’t much of a surprise if we consider the Titans are returning much of the same team. The team that made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game in 2019. Tennessee has also had the same average age on their initial 53-man roster in three of the last four years (2017, 2019 and 2020).
Jadeveon Clowney agreed to terms with Tennessee. It is arguable whether Clowney is an elite pass rusher. There is little doubt he can take the Titans defense to the next level. Tennessee’s defense was mediocre last year. They ranked 18th in Football Outsiders’ DVOA. Their pass defense was 22nd and run defense 11th. Clowney is an elite run defender who can bolster the Titans’ ability to shut down opposing ground games.
According to Pro Football Focus, his 65 tackles for loss or no gain since joining the league in 2014 are fourth-most in that period. His sack numbers (32 in six years in the league) may be disappointing. But they don’t reflect the disruption he has created when healthy.
Per the best online sportsbooks, Tennessee is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games. 7-3 SU in their last 10 games. 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against Denver. 2-5 SU in their last seven games against Denver. 5-1 ATS in their last six games on the road. 0-6 SU in their last six games when playing on the road against Denver. 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against an opponent in the AFC.
Betting Denver Broncos
The Broncos added wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler. And running back Melvin Gordin. Their offense already included Courtland Sutton, Noah Fant and Noah Lindsay. General manager John Elway is confident about Denver’s offensive outlook heading into the 2020 season. “I still have confidence that the offense can score a lot of points,” Elway said. “We have a lot of talent on that side. They’ve had a good camp. I like what [offensive coordinator] Pat [Shurmur’s] doing a lot on the offensive side. They’ve been learning and have had a good camp. I think we’re explosive on the offensive side.”
The Broncos scored just 17.6 points per game last year. That number needs to go up if Denver’s going to reach the playoffs this season. With a new coordinator and several young players, the offense might start slow. In time, the offense should become gain consistency with each game. “I think with the youth there might be some inconsistencies with it which remains until — that’s always going to be the case,” Elway said. “It’s just a matter of how inconsistent you are. Hopefully we can eliminate those mistakes as time goes.”
According to top sportsbooks online, Denver is 8-4 ATS in their last 12 games. 5-1 SU in their last six games at home. 6-0 SU in their last six games when playing at home against Tennessee. 1-5 ATS in their last six games played in September. And 0-4-1 ATS in their last five games played on a Monday.
