When looking for the best online sportsbook for American players, there’s no doubt that GT Bets comes to mind. GT Bets is one of the lesser known online sportsbook options available, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they have an outstanding reputation as well as outstanding betting lines. Take a look at the action they’ve put together for the NCAA betting matchup between the Temple Owls and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Temple Owls

The Temple Owls flew their way to a 10-4 record (7-1 in the American Athletic Conference play) that gave way to a 1st place finish within the East Division. It marked the second season in a row that the Owls delivered a 10-4 and also the second season in which they earned an invitation to the American championship game. However, unlike the year before, Temple was actually able to triumph this time around, beating No. 20 Navy 34-10. Afterwards, the Owls were invited to the Military Bowl where they faced No. 23 Wake Forest. Despite their best efforts, temple fell to the Demon Deacons 26-34.

Since Matt Rhule decided to pack up and head to Baylor University, the Owls had no choice but find a new head coach for this upcoming season. Temple decided to bring in Geoff Collins. This will be Collins’ first gig as head coach, but he has ample experience considering he’s been coaching football for over 20 years.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

After finishing the 2015 season with a 10-3 record, Notre Dame had high hopes for the 2016 season. Unfortunately for the Fighting Irish, those hopes quickly diminished as a rough start to the year turned into a rough season. Notre Dame would go on to finish the season with an extremely disappointing record of 4-8. Of the 5 schools that are independent in the FBS, the Fighting Irish finished with the 3rd worst record. The season would go on to end on a melancholy note as well, since Notre Dame lost the Jeweled Shillelagh to rival USC 27-45. It was a rough end to a rough season.

Brian Kelly returns as head coach to lead the Fighting Irish in his 8th season at the helm. Kelly is joined by a couple of first-timers though, including 1st year offensive coordinator Chip Long and 1st year defensive coordinator Mike Elko. We’ll have to see what kind of impact the new additions can have on this trying program.
