Game 3 of the 2017 World Series is upon us and with things being tied at 1-1, there couldn’t be any more reasons to tune in and bet on some MLB championship action this Friday. The series now heads back to Houston after the Dodgers were able to enjoy home field advantage for the opening games of the series. Now that the Astros will be enjoying home field advantage, US sportsbooks have decided to peg the Astros as betting favorites – for the first time this series.

Betting Los Angeles

The Dodgers are the overall favorites in this series and their performance in Game 1 proved that to most of the nation. Los Angeles hadn’t lost too many games this postseason and many online MLB betting pundits felt that the Dodgers’ bullpen was un-crack-able. However, the Astros proved the opposite was true in Game 2, coming through in the clutch 7-6. It was a bombshell for some but it only confirmed what most knew already about this year’s World Series: it’s one for the record books.

Clayton Kershaw got the start from the Dodgers and posted some pretty significant stats; 1 ER, 11 Ks, and 0 BB. Kershaw has often been critiqued for his poor postseason performances while others are always eager to supply reasons for a dip in his performance. No one is talking poorly about how he fared in Game 1. They are however, pointing out the fact that Los Angeles will need Kershaw to post Kershaw numbers in the World Series. Especially now with things being tied at 1-1.

Despite the fact that Game 2 went into overtime, we saw what some would consider to be an unhealthy amount of rotation in the Dodgers’ pitching. Brandon McCarthy got the start but was pulled after 1 inning due to giving up 2 hits, 2 runs, and a single homer. From there Los Angeles would rotate 8 different pitchers, with Rich Hill seeing the most action on the night as he pitched for 4 innings. Hill would give up 3 hits and a lone run himself but earned 7 strikeouts on the night. Kenley Jansen was the only other Dodger to earn a strikeout in Game 2.

Betting Houston

After forcing the Dodgers to go through so many pitchers, the Astros have to be feeling pretty good about their chances Friday night. They’ll be playing at home and are coming off a big road win. Houston will be looking to get the better of Yu Darvish, whom the Dodgers will be sending to the mound in Game 3. Darvish is 10-12 on the year with a 3.86 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP. Lance McCullers Jr. will get the start from Houston. McCullers is 7-4 on the season with a 4.25 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP. Fans looking for sportsbook betting tips on this one should stick to the spread.

US Sportsbook Betting Lines & Odds:

Los Angeles Dodgers +1 ½ (-185)   8 ½ (EV)         +121

Houston Astros -1 ½ (+160) 8 ½ (-120)       -131
