The Packers are 2.5-point road faves at the best online sportsbooks. The 2022 season is the Green Bay Packers’ 102nd in the NFL, 104th overall and fourth under head coach Matt LaFleur.
With a Week 15 win against the Baltimore Ravens, the Packers won the NFC North for the third consecutive year in 2021. With their win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17, they clinched home-field advantage, a first-round bye, and the top seed in the NFC playoffs.
They also became the first team in league history to finish three straight seasons with 13 or more wins. Aaron Rodgers was named MVP for the fourth time and the second consecutive year. However, their season came to a screeching halt for the third straight time, with a 13–10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.
This was the Packers’ fourth loss to the 49ers in the playoffs and in the divisional round of the NFC since Aaron Rodgers became the starting QB. It was also their second home divisional loss in the Rodgers era.
This meant that the Packers have only won a total of two postseason games in those three thirteen-win seasons. The Packers were able to secure the top-seed and clinched the NFC’s best record, but the special teams received criticism the entire season.
They ranked 32nd in the NFL by the Football Outsiders DVOA, Packer Central, and Sports Illustrated writer Rick Gosselin. After the playoff loss to the 49ers, Maurice Drayton was fired as special teams coordinator.

The 2022 season is the Minnesota Vikings’ 62nd in the NFL, seventh playing home games at U.S. Bank Stadium and first under new general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell, after the firings of Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer at the end of last season.

Mullens will have a chance to beat out Sean Mannion and Kellen Mond for the second-string position. They have been competing for the backup gig. Neither has been anything to write home about in training camp or in two preseason games. The two have split reps equally. Coach Kevin O’Connell declined to endorse one or the other following the Saturday night 17-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, wherein they combined to complete 20 of 35 passes for 147 yards. “The competition is going to go down to the very end here,” O’Connell said. “That does not mean that it always just stays the same. Sometimes we may feel the need to add a player at apposition, not just quarterback, just to try to maximize what we’re going to be this year as a football team. I feel really good about all those guys in that room. “There’s some plays we would have certainly liked to have back from Saturday but there were still a lot of positives coming out of the game for both Sean and Kellen. I’ve asked those guys to continue to progress on where they are within the offensive system in the competition. We’ll be able to sort that thing out when the time is right.”
Mullens started 16 games for the Niners from 2018 through 2020. He played in an offense similar to the one O’Connell is workin on with the Vikings. Also he added another start last season for the Cleveland Browns.
He was behind Derek Carr and Jarrett Stidham on the Las Vegas’ depth chart this summer. The Vikings renewed their football operations this offseason, but new GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah brought back all three of their 2021 QBs for training camp. Cousins signed a contract extension. Mannion signed a one-year deal. Mond was a 2021 third-round pick and hasn’t looked ready to take over as a No. 2 QB this summer.
