Betting Ohio Bobcats

The best online sportsbooks have Ohio as a 4 point road dog. The Bobcats went into the 2022 season on the heels of their worst season since the 2003 season, finishing near the bottom of the MAC East division.

Ohio finished its non-conference schedule with a 2–2 record, including high-scoring wins at home 41–38 against Florida Atlantic and 59–52 against FCS Fordham. They lost powerhouses Penn State and Iowa State.

They began conference play with an OT loss to Kent State where they allowed 736 offensive yards. Following a 55–34 win versus Akron, the Bobcats got back on black. Ohio’s offensive attack was fruitful and the passing game was breaking records with MAC Player of the Year QB Kurtis Rourke, who passed for 537 yards against Fordham, but Ohio’s defense was terrible.

In six games Ohio surrendered 40.6 points, 561 yards, and 387 passing yards per game. The Akron win, however, was the start of a second-half winning streak wherein the defense would improve by leaps and bounds.

In the seventh game Ohio got their second MAC win and first on the road with a 33–14 win against Western Michigan. Ohio’s defense allowed just 14 points and forced six turnovers, five of which were picks, and they got five sacks.

Ohio beat Northern Illinois though Rourke only passed for 200 yards. The defense held the Huskies to 17 points. At home against Buffalo, Rourke tied a school record with five touchdown passes in a 45–24 win.

Ohio defeated Miami (OH) and Ball State on the road. Rourke passed for 362 yards and three touchdowns against the RedHawks but he sustained a season-ending torn ACL against the Cardinals. Ohio had to rely on its ground game and defense.

The Bobcats rushed for 224 yards with two touchdowns by MAC Freshman of the Year Sieh Bangura. Ohio’s defense obtained three turnovers and kept the Cards to 18 points. Rourke and Parker Navarro were out for the season, so Ohio resorted to CJ Harris at QB to close the division against Bowling Green.

The 2023 Ohio Bobcats college football team will be representing Ohio University as members of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS college football season. They are going to be led by third-year head coach Tim Albin. They will be playing their home games at Peden Stadium in Athens, Ohio.

Ohio is 6-2 ATS in their last eight games played in August. Ohio is 4-1 SU in their last five games played in week 1. The total has gone UNDER in four of Ohio’s last five games played on a Saturday.
