Betting Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles beat the Redskins 32-27 in their season opener as, according to the best online sportsbooks, 10-point home faves. Starting QB Carson Wentz threw 28 of 39 for 313 yards with three TDs. DeSean Jackson led the receiving unit with 154 yards and two TDs. Philly’s secondary allowed Case Keenum, of all people, 380 passing yards and three TDs. On the other hand, Philadelphia’s rushing defense held the Skins to just 28 measly yards.

According to NJ.com, the Eagles could be getting back two key players very soon; linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill and quarterback Nate Sudfeld. Wait, Nate Sudfeld? The only way he could be a key is if we were a wonder twin. And even then he’d be an ice key. Should anything happen to Wentz, I would sooner put my trust on Josh McCown.

Philly’s rushing corps gained a decent 123 yards on the Redskins. Jordan Howard, Darren Sproles and Miles Sanders combined for 116 of those yards. ”We have confidence in the guys running all the schemes, but we do try to get everybody involved and in the mix,” offensive coordinator Mike Groh said. ”Then you have to try to balance that with … you have to do a great job self-scouting yourself and making sure that they’re in on some things from a weekly basis that maybe didn’t show the week before. We’re constantly massaging that and managing that, and we have a lot of confidence in those guys to run all the runs that we have on each game plan.”

According to online sports betting USA trends, Philadelphia is 4-0 ATS in their last four road games. 4-1 ATS in their last five playing NFC teams. And 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Eagles also are 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 meetings with the Falcons. The home team is 4-0 ATS in the last four encounters between these two teams. The under is 5-2 Philly’s last seven road games.

Betting Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons opened the season with a 12-28 loss to the Vikes as 3.5-point road dogs. Matt Ryan passed 33 of 46 for 304 yards with two TDs and two picks. Atlanta’s vaunted O-line was conspicuous by its absence, and as a result Matty Ice was sacked four times. Well, that was money well spent. The Falcons’ running backs barely registered either, accruing a laughable 73 yards. Atlanta’s pass defense did a great job of containing Kirk Cousins, but the run defense yielded 172 yards and three TDs.

According to Sports Yahoo.com, “The South’s most prolific (Julio Jones) pass catcher has found his muse in cleat art. That muse is Waffle House.” I take it they mean he has found a new career making cleat art. Because 31 yards on six catches isn’t all that prolific. Keep your day job, Julio. No, really; keep it. Or not; perhaps Waffle House is hiring.

The Falcons are 2-5 against the online sports betting USA in their last seven home games. 1-4 ATS in their last five games in September. And 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall. The over is 9-3 in Atlanta’s last 12 games in September.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Atlanta Falcons Game Pick

Let’s face it; the Falcons are a money pit. Do yourself a favor and take the Eagles and the points.
