Thursday night football is alive as well as a little NFC East matchup is headed towards sports betting sites in Week 13. This Thursday, NFL wagering players will be able to bet on the pairing between the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys. Both teams have been struggling as of late, but there’s no question that Dallas has had the rougher experience of the two considering they look seem to be without a paddle now that Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension has been reinstated. Let’s take a look at the latest sportsbook news for this Week 13 Thursday night football matchup.
Betting Washington
The Redskins march into this Thursday night contest flashing a 5-6 record that ranks the franchise 2nd in the NFC East. Technically, the Redskins share a 5-6 record with the Dallas Cowboys. But since Washington managed to beat America’s Team earlier this season, the No. 2 spot belongs to them. The Redskins haven’t been able to find much momentum this season, as the best Washington has done was early in the year when they managed to win back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Rams and the Oakland Raiders. The Redskins have been unable to shake the tough times as the franchise is 1-2 in their last three games. This includes their most recent 20-10 triumph over the New York Giants that honestly did not do much for Washington’s reputation.
Betting Dallas
The Cowboys ride into this NFC East rivalry with a 5-6 record that ranks Dallas 3rd in the NFC East ahead of the 2-9 New York Giants. The Cowboys were in contention for the division early in the season, or at least a spot in the playoffs, but those hopes seem to have vanquished with Elliott’s now reinstituted suspension. Had the Cowboys decided to have their star running back, and here I mean Jerry Jones instead of the Cowboys since that dotard is the one making the shots in the Lone Star State, serve his suspension at the start of the season; the Cowboys might be able to still compete for a shot in the playoffs. Instead, due to Jones’ arrogance, Elliott is now focusing on staying in shape instead of helping his franchise secure a seat in the postseason.
The Cowboys are 0-3 in their last three games without their running game. This situation has helped clarify just what kind of quarterback Dak Prescott truly is. As a late-round draft pick, it’s obvious that Prescott has something to prove. And while the quarterback was able to lead the Cowboys to an unprecedented level of success in his rookie year, there are those who questioned Prescott’s talents, claiming instead that the rookie was more of a game-manager than a game winner. So far, this has turned out to be true as Prescott hasn’t found too much success without his partner backing him up in the backfield. Ultimately, there might be too many obstacles for the Cowboys to overcome both in this game and in this season. But hey, as Cowboys’ fans love to say: there’s always next year. Sports betting sites have mixed feeling about this matchup however.
