Betting San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers did not look a lot like a playoff team at 2-4 SU and 1-5 ATS and with the proverbial injury bug on defense and to the running back unit. But San Francisco successfully turned its season around with an 8-3 SU and ATS stretch in its last 11 games.

That was capped off by a 27-24 OT win over the Rams last Sunday with which the 49ers secured their playoff berth. The win over Los Angeles saw the 49ers erase an early 17-0 deficit on their way to victory.

Starting QB Jimmy Garoppolo had 316 passing yards, one passing TD and two picks. He completed 23 of his 32 pass attempts. Whatever the 49ers were thinking when they traded up for rookie QB Trey Lance this offseason, this is Garoppolo’s team going into the postseason. Provided he can manage to remain healthy, of course.

The Cowboys have a mediocre rushing defense. It ranks 16th in the league in rushing yards allowed at 112.8 per game. San Francisco will be a strong contender if it can establish the run early and wear down the Cowboys defense.

Betting Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys went on a 5-1 SU and ATS run to finish the regular season with a statement. On Sunday, they obliterated the Philadelphia Eagles 51-26 as six-point favorites at top sportsbooks online. Starting QB Dak Prescott went 21-for-27 with 295 passing yards and five passing TDs.

Ezekiel Elliott ran for 87 of the team’s 171 yards on the ground. This was the second time in Dallas’ past three games that the team has scored more than 50 points. In spite of their dominant 12-5 SU and 13-4 ATS season, the Cowboys still aren’t a strong alternative for many bettors and fans.

This may be because many of the team’s wins this year have been against weak opposition. Prescott and the Cowboys will have an opportunity to prove that they mean business with a win and cover this Sunday.

The 49ers defense is monolothic against the run as well as the pass, but Dak Prescott has looked like a man possessed at times this season. He will need another big game in order to lead the Cowboys to a win and the cover.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Dallas Cowboys Playoffs Pick

The San Francisco 49ers thrive in the playoffs. They have an above average defense. They rank seventh in rushing offense. One does have to question Garoppolo and his injured thumb, though. The Dallas Cowboys have been inconsistent at home. That’s where three of their last four losses have been.

Conversely, they’re possibly the best offensive team. This feels like a game where the Cowboys can come up with big plays on defense and create separation in the fourth. This line at three almost feels too good to be true. Almost.
