It’s draft week and the best USA sportsbooks have a new betting favorite to go to the Jacksonville Jaguars as the first pick overall. Defensive end Travon Walker continued rising. He is now ahead of Aidan Hutchinson with just days to go. Here is a look at the best online sportsbooks NFL Draft odds.
The 2022 NFL Draft is the 87th NFL Draft. The draft is slated to be held April 28–30, 2022 at Caesars Forum in Paradise, Nevada.
Travon Walker (-150)
Travon Walker has made the biggest movements on the best USA sportsbooks oddsboards in the last few weeks. There are rumors that the Jacksonville Jaguars could pick him first overall. Last week, he went up to second behind Aidan Hutchinson. Now the versatile defensive lineman has risen even higher.
He had just six sacks with Georgia this last season, but he is ultra-athletic. He consistently puts on pressure. If you hesitated about taking Walker when his odds were longer, that train has definitely left the station following his incredible performance at the NFL Combine in early March.
Pro Football Talk’s Peter King sure appears to believe that Walker is going to Jacksonville bound. He has heard that we should “expect a surprise” from the Jaguars. Of course, according to that logic, at this stage it would only be a surprise if he didn’t pick him, but you get the idea.
Aidan Hutchinson (+140)
Michigan’s defensive end Aidan Hutchinson was heavily favored at the best USA sportsbooks to go first overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He is now listed as second on the board in Walker’s wake. Hutchinson led a Michigan defense that finished the year 8th in scoring defense.
He had 14 sacks on the season. That includes three sacks per game in huge wins over Penn State and Ohio State. Hutchinson finished second in the Heisman Trophy voting. He lost to Alabama QB Bryce Young.
Ikem Ekwonu (+750)
Ikem Ekwonu was also on the rise before Walker skyrocketed up the board. After the NFL Combine he became a possible first overall pick before he slipped back to second at +800. He’s since gone down to third at +750 with Walker’s surprising jump.
“Ickey” has remarkable athleticism and versatility. He has the ability to slot in at both tackle and guard if need be. He only allowed three sacks on 500 snaps in 2021. Any QB who has him protecting them will be very lucky.
Evan Neal (+1,600)
Even without an outstanding QB prospect in this class, Alabama’s left tackle highlights the importance of the passing game. Evan Neal saw his stock soar to -110 and then drop to +1,600. With great size and positional versatility (he started at left guard, right tackle, and left tackle), Neal could be the top offensive lineman selected during this week’s draft.
Kayvon Thibodeaux (+2,000)
Fifth on the board comes Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux. He has dropped all the way down to +2,000 since he was the odds-on betting favorite (-115) in early December. He was the 2019 class’ No. 2 prospect.
He has demonstrated why in his stint with Oregon. In the 30 games he played with the Ducks, he had a total of 126 total tackles, 35.5 tackles for loss, and 19 sacks.
