Last 10 Super Bowl Scores – There’s an old saying: “before you can know where you’re going, you have to know where you’ve been.” It may not seem like there’s much to be learned by looking back on the last ten Super Bowl scores, but the truth is that there are plenty of takeaways from these games that can influence how you look at the Super Bowl to come.
Here at BOS, we offer plenty of betting options for the big game and every other one. The more research you do before you bet, the better. That’s why BOS is the best online betting site for all your wagering needs!
New England 28 Seattle 24
The biggest play may not be made by one of the stars. In this game, the biggest play didn’t come from Tom Brady, nor did it come from “Beast Mode.” Rather, it came from a member of the New England secondary who was able to intercept a pass before Danger Russ could lead the Hawks down the field for a last second comeback.
Denver 24 Carolina 10
Even if you have maybe the NFL’s best offensive player, if the other team’s defense is too good, you’re going to struggle. That’s exactly what happened to a never-better Cam Newton. The Panthers came in as a team that many thought would win this game, particularly after how much Denver struggled in their previous Super Bowl loss to Seattle. This game went in the exact opposite direction.
Philadelphia 41 New England 33
For a team that may not have the best player on the field, everyone has to contribute for them to be able to pull it out. Yes, everyone remembers the past to the quarterback for a touchdown. But, the Eagles pulled out all of the stops in this one. The Pats were by no means a bad team (and they had Brady) but the Eagles had a roster that was absolutely stacked. They needed it, as practically every player had to step up for the Birds to pull this one out.
New England 13 LA Rams 3
Just because something hasn’t happened before, that doesn’t mean it could never happen. The same goes for something that hasn’t happened in a long time. The Rams had a high flying offense, a team that could score a lot of points. They didn’t, because the Pats D was stifling. The Rams tied the lowest output in a championship game with three points.
Kansas City 31 San Francisco 20
If you’re going to be a team that prides itself on running the ball, controlling the clock, etc., then you have to be able to run the ball when you need it. That’s not happened to the Niners in this one, and it’s a big reason why they lost the game when the Chiefs came back on them.
Tampa Bay 31 Kansas City 9
You can’t overstate how important the offensive line is. Yes, there are so many factors that can go into a game that can influence it one way or another. But, the O line is so important. The Chiefs O line going into this game was really struggling with injuries. Then, when this game came around, they just struggled. The Bucs had wild pressure on Mahomes all night long.
LA Rams 23 Cincinnati 20
Receivers can cement career legacies in these games. Yes, when we think about a player in terms of who won or lost a big game, we think of quarterbacks. But, receivers have been MVPs far more than you might think. Cooper Cupp solidified his legacy with this game, when he became a true legend. The Rams had just enough defense to hold him off.
Kansas City 38 Philadelphia 35
Expect high scoring. Expect up and down the field action. And, perhaps, expect a close one. Short of a game that went to overtime, it’s hard to think of too many of these big games that were closer than this one. When we think back on Mahomes’ dominant run with the Chiefs, it’s easy to think: “well, they’ve always been invincible.” Not in this one. They very easily could’ve lost it. But, the Chiefs always make the simple, big play when they need it.
Kansas City 25 San Francisco 22
Case in point: this game. The Chiefs needed to get a stop to get the ball back in regulation, so they did. Then, they marched down the field, both in the game and in overtime. Adn, when it was all said and done, that was that. This is a great “what if” game. What if the Niners don’t lose their Pro Bowl inside linebacker early? They were giving Mahomes fits. It’s possible that, without that seemingly minor injury, this goes another way.
What Will Happen Next?
You can see why looking back on the previous ten games is instructive. It won’t give you the final score, exactly, but you can see how with so many repeat teams, so many great teams, that a look to the past can help.
