The Denver Broncos are slight favorites on Thursday night as they visit the San Diego Chargers on CBS and NFL Network. The Broncos suffered their first loss of the season last week as they were beaten at home by the Atlanta Falcons while the Chargers found a way to lose yet another game last week as they fell to the Raiders. Let’s look at Thursday’s contest and NFL picks.

NFL Odds at Online Sports Books

Denver Broncos -3, total 45.5

Denver Broncos 4-1 SU, 4-1 ATS

The Broncos didn’t play well last week in a loss to Atlanta but they should get quarterback Trevor Siemian back for this contest. Rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch didn’t really play that well last week but it wasn’t all his fault as the defense was weak and the Broncos overall just looked listless. Siemian has thrown five touchdown passes and one interception this season.

The Broncos are scoring about 25 points per game and allowing about 17 per game. They have gone over in three of their five games this season. The Broncos will be without head coach Gary Kubiak for this game as he has a complex migraine condition. Special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis will be the interim head coach for Thursday’s game.

San Diego Chargers 1-4 SU, 3-2 ATS

The Chargers have been in every game this season but they have found a way to lose four of those games. “The most disappointing thing is I feel we are a very good football team,” Chargers safety Dwight Lowery said. “I feel we are good at the positions you need to be good at. Obviously, with the injuries we’ve had, we’ve shown that we have enough depth to compete with teams, but we’re not getting the results that we want.”

The Chargers are scoring plenty of points as they are 2nd in the league in points per game at 30.4 while they are 28th on defense, allowing 28 per contest.
