Betting LA Chargers

The Bolts are road dogs according to NFL gambling sites. The Los Angeles defense improved in spite of missing Jackson in the secondary The Chargers made some adjustments to their defense during the offseason.

They acquired pass rusher Khalil Mack from the Chicago Bears and signed free agent cornerback J.C. Jackson from the New England Patriots. Jackson did not play in the season opener. He watched Las Vegas wide receiver Davante Adams post 141 yards on 10 catches.

Mack ran roughshod on the opposition’s offensive line with three of the team’s six sacks. Mack will Mahomes on his croshairs. The Chiefs did a great job protecting their QB against the Cardinals. The Los Angeles defense also intercepted Derek Carr three times and helped keep the total UNDER the closing number of 52.5.

Putting pressure on Mahomes is key for Los Angeles. The Chargers beat the Chiefs 30-24 as seven-point road underdogs at NFL gambling sites in Week 3 of last season. They sacked Mahomes two times, picked him off twice and recovered two fumbles. Los Angeles has the offensive prowess to put points on the scoreboard, but the defense needs to step up.

The Los Angeles Chargers have lost four of their last six road games. Justin Herbert completed 76.5 percent of his passes for 279 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Keenan Allen and DeAndre Carter combined for 130 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Gerald Everett had three receptions. The Los Angeles Chargers ground game had 76 yards. Austin Ekeler led the way with 36 yards on 14 carries. Defensively, Los Angeles allowed 19 points and 320 yards. Khalil Mack led the Los Angeles Chargers with six tackles. Joey Bosa had 1.5 sacks. Asante Samuel Jr. Had one interception.

Betting Kansas City Chiefs

The Chief’s offense looked like a million bucks in their rout of Arizona, even without Tyreek Hill. Mahomes tossed five touchdown passes at Arizona. That included two to running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Hill was their top receiver a year ago with 111 catches for 1,239 yards and 9 TDs. Mahomes spread the love in Week 1 with six different targets totaling three catches or more. New arrival JuJu Smith-Schuster caught six of eight targets for 79 yards.

He finished second on the team behind All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce. He had a team-best eight catches for 121 yards and a TD. That aerial attack by Mahomes helped the total go OVER the closing number of 54.

A quick start and solid finish will be the biggest keys to a win. The Chargers got off to a 14-0 lead at Arrowhead last year and outscored their opponents 16-7 in the fourth quarter for the win. Kansas City is always best when the team can score fast, just the way it happened at Arizona with an early 14-0 lead. The Chiefs then were up 23-7 at halftime and 37-7 following three quarters. It’s tough to come back from that.

The Kansas City Chiefs have won their last six home games. Patrick Mahomes completed 76.9 percent of his passes for 360 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions.

LA Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs Betting NFL Pick

The road team has won eight of the last 10 meetings between these two teams. Both meetings last season were decided by a total of 12 points. There is a case to be made for the Chargers here. However, we need a few more points to consider the away team.

The Kansas City Chiefs looked great last week and appear to be playing with a chip on their collective shoulder after they received the Rodney Dangerfield treatment all off-season long. As skilled and centered as the Chargers are, we are just not trying to get in the way of the Chiefs and how crisp that offense looked. Take KC by a touchdown.
