Betting Alabama
The 2022 Alabama Crimson Tide (also known as “Alabama”, “Bama”, or “The Tide”) will represent the University of Alabama in the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. This will be the Crimson Tide’s 128th overall season.
As well as their 89th as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). And the 31st in the SEC Western Division. They will host their home games at Bryant–Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. They will be led by 16th-year head coach Nick Saban.
The Crimson Tide finished the 2021 season with a 13–2 record (7–1 in conference play). They were the defending consensus national champions and SEC conference champions. Also they beat an undefeated Cincinnati in the CFP Semifinal. They lost to Georgia in the 2022 College Football National Championship in what surely must have been an upset at the best online sportsbooks.
Several Crimson Tide players declared for the 2022 NFL Draft. Wide receivers Slade Bolden, John Metchie III and Jameson Williams, running back Brian Robinson, offensive lineman Evan Neal, defensive lineman Phidarian Mathis, defensive backs Josh Jobe and Jalyn Armour-Davis and linebackers Chris Allen and Christian Harris. All of them had their names enter the draft pool.
Betting Utah State
The Aggies represent Utah State University. They are a member of the Mountain Division of the Mountain West Conference in the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Aggies are led by head coach Blake Anderson in his second year. They will play their home games at Maverik Stadium.
The Aggies finished 2021 with a 11–3 record (6–2 in conference play). They won the Mountain West Mountain Division. Also they won the MW Championship game when they defeated San Diego State. They earned an bid to the LA Bowl where they beat Oregon State.
The Aggies are not the high-profile opponent the Crimson Tide have been accustomed to in their season opener. However, the activity coming from top offshore sportsbooks says otherwise. There have been three wagers of $1,000 or higher placed on Utah State to win this year’s national championship game. That’s right, the current Mountain West champions have some serious backing this offseason.
The Aggies ranked 22nd in the country in total offense last season. They featuring a top notch passing game that finished 15th. The Aggies’ 32.6 points per game were third in the Mountain West. This is a conference known for its high scoring.
Utah State will return eight offensive starters. That includes QB Logan Bonner. Bonner completed 263 of 430 passes last year. He had 3,628 yards and 36 touchdowns. His numbers were strong enough to rank 3rd in the conference in passing yards. He tied for first in passing touchdowns.
Deven Thompkins was the most fruitful wide receiver in the Mountain West last season. He amassed 1,704 yards on 102 catches and scored 10 touchdowns. Also he has moved on to the NFL. He signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Bonner lost 800-yard receiver Brandon Bowling to graduation. Starter Justin McGriff returns to the roster for his junior season. As a sophomore, McGriff secured 35 catches for more than 400 yards and six touchdowns.
With a 6-foot-6, 215-pound build he is a shoo in for the No. 1 wide receiver spot. He will have every opportunity to fill that role as new pieces rise alongside him. One of those pieces is Alabama transfer wide receiver Xavier Williams.
The season opener will reunite Williams and his former team after he did enter the transfer portal in November. He committed to Utah State in January. Williams caught only three passes for 24 yards with the Tide. The former 4-star recruit from the 2018 class will have a chance to display his talent in a less competitive wide receiver unit.
The biggest weak spot for the Aggies’ offense last season was the rushing game. They ranked just 85th in the nation. One thing it has now, though, is experience. All five offensive starters on the offensive line will return.
Also starting running back Calvin Tyler. He piled up 884 yards and seven touchdowns on 196 totes last season. The only major loss is Thompkins. Utah State is poised to have an high-paced offense that could be an improvement over the one that won the Mountain West. There’s much more cause for worry for the Aggies on the other side of the ball.
