Week 1 of the 2021 NCAAF Division I FBS football season will mark the return of fans to the stadiums and of bettors to the best offshore gambling sites. Without further ado, here are top games from Week 1 of the college football season (odds from My Bookie, one of the best online sportsbooks).

Lane Stadium is known to be a hard place to play, in particular at night. That and the hype surrounding this season-opening game make a perfect recipe for a veritable battle. A huge edge for North Carolina is that they return all five starters on the O-line.

Last year, both programs were back-to-back in yards on the ground per game. Virginia Tech ranked 10th with 240.1 yards. UNC was 11th with 236.3 yards. But this is a moot point since neither team returns their backs.

Carolina ranked No. 1 in the country in the percentage of chunk plays. They picked up at least 10 yards on 30% of their offensive snaps. Tech was second nationally in so-called explosive plays (a 10-yard or more rush or a 30-yard or more pass) at 15.4% of their snaps.

Neither team featured a particularly solid defense in 2020. That trend may continue in 2021. The bright side of this is that this game should be a high-scoring affair, for those who like to be the over at the best offshore gambling sites.

Penn State vs. Wisconsin Odds by BetUS

Team SP/RL TOTAL ML
Nittany Lions +4½ ( -110 ) 53½ ( -110 ) +165
Badgers -4½ ( -110 ) 53½ ( -110 ) -190

Much of their season went offtrack as a result of COVID cancellations, but Wisconsin felt greater things were in store for them in 2020. Young star QB Graham Mertz got off on the right foot.

He threw five TDs in his Badgers debut. However, they dropped to 4-3 by the end of the season, and picked up a W in the Mayo Bowl.
Penn State was an even bigger flop; in fact, they were arguably the biggest disappointment of the year.

The Nittany Lions were 0-5 after five weeks, losing to Maryland and Nebraska. They did win their last four games, which is more in line with what we expect of the program this season.
To right the ship, Penn State hired new offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich. Scoring on Wisconsin is not easy. The Badgers allowed scores on fewer than 22% of drives, which was third in the nation. Offensively they finished 88th in points per game (25.1) while Penn State’s finished 55th-place (29.8).

If the Badgers want to win this game, they have to force turnovers. Penn State finished with a -7 turnover margin, ranking 112th out of 127 in the FBS. Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford threw only one interception in the Nittany Lions’ four last games from eight picks in their first five games.

Georgia vs. Clemson Odds by BetAnysports.eu

Team SP/RL TOTAL ML
Bulldogs +3 ( EV ) 52½ ( -110 ) +145
Tigers -3 ( -120 ) 52½ ( -110 ) -165

This is without a doubt the biggest game of the week. Moreover, this could be the biggest non-conference game of the entire season. Clemson’s O-line will be tested from the get-go against Georgia’s stout defensive front.

The Dawgs’ front seven is very well seasoned, especially compared to their secondary, which consists of two freshmen cornerbacks. Both teams’ inexperienced secondary will be the target of both Dabo Swinney and Kirby Smart.

Clemson star DJ Uiagalelei showed off his arm last season against Notre Dame. Georgia returns J.T. Daniels, a Heisman candidate at the best offshore gambling sites. Both programs feature outstanding receiving corps as well.

Clemson was fifth in plays of 10+ yards in 2020. Georgia allowed explosive plays on only 4.5% of snaps (No. 1 in FBS). Look for this game to be a series an exchange of heavy blows with the team that can make the most plays on defense getting the win.
