Raiders -6, total 46

Texans vs. Raiders

The Texans haven’t looked that impressive this betting season with a quarterback in Brock Osweiler who hasn’t played well and with a defense missing J.J. Watt but somehow Houston is in first place. The Texans have actually been outscored on the season as they are averaging just 18 points per game while they are allowing 21 per contest.

The Texans get a little bit of a break in this contest as it is considered a road game for them but in reality it is less of a road trip than they would have had going to Oakland. “We’re excited about that,” head coach Bill O’Brien said, “I know that Mr. McNair and the NFL feel strongly about international play. It’s a pretty short trip for us. We know we’re going to have a lot of fans down there, which is great for our team and our organization.”

The Raiders are coming off their bye week so they should be refreshed after beating Denver to take over the lead in the AFC West. “I think they’re playing as one of the best teams in the league,” O’Brien said. “I think that they’re very athletic. I think offensively just watching a lot of their film here over the last couple days, big, big offensive line. Downhill running attack. Derek Carr is playing very, very well.”

The Raiders are scoring about 27 points per game and allowing 25 points per contest. Carr is third in the AFC with 2,505 net passing yards. He has thrown for 17 TDs and has just three interceptions. The Raiders are fourth in the league in rushing.

Game Trends

The Texans are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games in November. The Texans are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games on grass. The Texans are 2-5 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The Texans are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 Monday games.

The Raiders are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a bye week. The Raiders are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 vs. the AFC. The Raiders are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 Monday games.

The Over is 5-1 in the Raiders last 6 games overall. The Over is 18-6-3 in the Raiders last 27 games in November.

Monday Night Football Picks

The Raiders are the far superior offensive team so and their defense should be able to contain Osweiler and the Texans offense. I will lay the points and take Oakland in this game.
