The sportsbook reviews are in and Week 2’s Thursday night football matchup was rather lacking. This past Thursday, the Cincinnati Bengals hosted the Houston Texans to deliver what many online NFL betting fans thought to be an interesting pairing. But the game failed to deliver across all fronts and except for a handful of eye-catching plays, Thursday night was devoid of any real substance.

Nevertheless, the NFL wagering season continues this week with another Thursday night football contest to help the week fly by. This time, the San Francisco 49ers will host their NFC West and California rivals, the Los Angeles Rams, to deliver Week 3’s TNF matchup.

Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers – Thursday, September 21st

Venue: Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara

Start Time: 8:25 pm ET

TV Broadcast: NFL Network

Online Streaming Options: NFL Game Pass, NFL.com

At first glance, this contest doesn’t seem that interesting. Other than the aforementioned rivalry – which doesn’t measure up against some of the other rivalries across the league, there’s not that many headlines surrounding this contest. The Niners are 0-2 and last in the division, and the Rams are showing their regular early-season symptoms: some promising performances against some quasi-high-profile teams that never translate into any postseason success.

However, at the end of the day, this is still a mid-week NFL matchup that offers a perfect opportunity to hit up some offshore sportsbooks. Granted the game might not be that thrilling to watch, but that doesn’t mean players can’t cash in on some lucrative action.

USA Sportsbook Odds:

Los Angeles Rams -2 (-110) 40 (-110)

San Francisco 49ers +2 (-110)         40 (-110)

Betting Los Angeles

The Rams had a great start to the 2017 season: beating the Indianapolis Colts 46-9 at home. After Los Angeles forced 4 turnovers and took all 4 takeaways back the other way, Rams’ fans were electrified and once again filled with hope that 2017 would be a different story. That 2017 would finally be the season Los Angeles made a name for themselves in the playoffs.

But a 27-20 loss to the Washington Redskins dealt LA fans a reality check. The Redskins don’t have much of a defense and without their defense forcing turnovers left and right, the Rams didn’t stand much of a chance against Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Betting San Francisco

The Niners are 0-2 and in desperate need of a quarterback. Through 2 starts this season, starting quarterback and 8-year veteran Brian Hoyer has posted a severely disappointing 60.7 passer rating. The running game, despite its best efforts, hasn’t been able to pick up the slack considering that San Francisco has only scored 12 points this season. Their defense hasn’t been terrible, but without a sizable threat on the other side of the ball, the Niners will not be winning too many contests this season.

Best Sportsbook Bets to Make: Online NFL betting fans might want to wait for the money line to come out on this one. Either way, players should stick with the Rams this Thursday.
