Betting Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are road faves at the best online sportsbooks. The 2022 season will be the Baltimore Ravens’ 27th in the NFL) as well as their 15th under head coach John Harbaugh. They will attempt to improve on their 8–9 record from last season. The Black Birds set or broke several records last year.
On August 23, the Ravens and Harbaugh claimed the record of straight preseason wins with 20, overcoming Vince Lombardi’s Green Bay Packers record with a win over the Washington Redskins. On September 26, placekicker Justin Tucker broke the league record for a longest field goal in history with a 66-yard field goal as time expired to defeat the Detroit Lions 19–17.
The following week, on October 3, the Ravens tied the Steelers for most consecutive games rushing over 100 yards with 43 in a 23–7 win over the Denver Broncos. However, even though they started the season 8–3, the Ravens fell apart late in the season.
They ended the season with a six-game losing streak. Five of those losses were by a combined eight points. They failed to improve on their 11–5 record from the previous season after a Week 15 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
The Ravens also had their first losing season since 2015. They finished last in the AFC North for the first time since 2007. They were eliminated from the playoffs for the first time since 2017 after a loss to the Steelers in Week 18.
Baltimore Team Preview
It was the first time with Lamar Jackson that the Ravens failed to reach the postseason. The Ravens sustained many injuries to key players such as J. K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, L. J. Fort, and Marcus Peters, Ronnie Stanley, Marlon Humphrey, Derek Wolfe, DeShon Elliott and several others.
QB Jackson missed the final four games of the season with an ankle injury. The Ravens ended the season with an NFL-high 19 players on injured reserve. The year was also the second in franchise history to not have a Pro Bowler on defense.
Lamar Jackson had a solid day throwing the ball on Sunday, but he missed a couple of deep throws to his wide receivers. Rashod Bateman had Jackson’s 40-yard pass bouncing off his extended hands after he got behind the defense.
Devin Duvernay couldn’t reach an overthrown Jackson pass. Throwing the ball deep has been a priority in this camp for Jackson. He ranked 25th with a 32.1% completion rate (17-of-53) on passes that went at least 20 yards in the air last season.
Jackson’s preferred deep-ball target was Marquise Brown. He was traded to Arizona this offseason. Bateman and Duvernay have to improve in this area.
Betting NY Jets
The Jets are home dogs according to NFL gambling sites. The 2022 season will be the New York Jets’ 53rd in the NFL as well as their 63rd overall, fourth under GM Joe Douglas and second under head coach Robert Saleh. The Jets will attempt to end a franchise record 11-season playoff drought and return to the postseason for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
Last season the Jets improved on their 2020 2–14 record. In spite of this, they were eliminated from playoff contention for the eleventh straight season in Week 14. The Jets missed the postseason for the eleventh consecutive season, tying a record set between 1970 and 1980.
With Zach Wilson slated for arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday in Los Angeles, Joe Flacco took over the offense and delivered a strong practice. Unofficially, he went 16 of 20 in 11-on-11 periods. That includes a perfect third-down period.
That is precisely what you want out of your backup QB, a seasoned veteran who doesn’t disrupt the offensive flow. There’s a chance Flacco will have to start against the Ravens. Wilson is expected to miss 2 to 4 weeks, pending his scope. The players feel at ease with Flacco, center Connor McGovern said. “He’s a Super Bowl MVP. You can’t not have confidence in a guy like that.”
Baltimore Ravens vs. New York Jets NFL Picks
Presuming that the Ravens are back in good health (a few of their players have missed time throughout 2022 training camp, but wide receiver Tylan Wallace and center Tyler Linderbaum have been back on the field), this should be an easy win and cover for Baltimore.
