According to NFL gambling sites, the Los Angeles Rams are giving the Cincinnati Bengals points against the point spread in Super Bowl LVI. The Rams opened as 3.5-point faves over the Bengals after they beat the San Francisco 49ers 20-17 in the NFC championship game.
The Bengals progressed to their first Super Bowl since 1989 with a 27-24 OT win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game earlier that same day. The total for the game opens at 49.5 on the best online sportsbooks.
The Bengals defeated the Chiefs 27-24 in a contest that went under the 54.5-point closing total. Two of the Rams’ three wins in the playoffs have gone under the total. That includes Sunday’s game. The only game that went over the total was Los Angeles’ moribund win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the divisional round.
The Rams are favorites at NFL gambling sites in part due to their homefield advantage. They also have a better regular-season record. And major market appeal as well as a terrific pass rush. The Bengals notoriously allowed nine sacks in their divisional round win over the Titans.

Their porous interior line has a fortnight to plan for Aaron ‘Old Mac’ Donald. Los Angeles hosts the Super Bowl on February 13. They are the second straight team to play at home in the Super Bowl. The Tampa Bay Bucs beat the Chiefs at home in 2021.
No team had played in the Super Bowl in its own home field until Tampa Bay a season ago. The two teams have combined for just one Super Bowl win. That was in 1999 when the Rams defeated the Tennessee Titans.
This is the Bengals’ first Super Bowl outing against a team other than the 49ers. The Bengals met and lost to San Francisco two times in the 1980s. Super Bowl LVI also includes the most combined regular-season losses of any Super Bowl. The Rams and Bengals have a total of 12 losses in the first year of the league’s 17-game regular season.
The previous record for total regular-season losses in a Super Bowl was 11. It will also be the first time that two teams seeded at No. 4 in their respective conferences make an appearance in the Super Bowl in the same season.
Bengals and Rams Preview & Betting Analysis
The Rams’ rally against the Niners was about more than one play. They made a lot of big plays. Cooper Kupp added to his superlative season, totaling 142 yards and two TDs on 11 grabs. The 49ers had many chances to beat the Rams.
Stafford threw a careless pass down the middle of the field in the fourth quarter. It sailed straight to Tartt, who had nobody around him. The ball hit him in the hands, but he dropped it. On the following play Odell Beckham Jr. caught a 29-yard pass.
The Rams got 15 more yards on a personal foul. That set up a field goal that tied the game. The Rams got a stop after that, and marched for a game-winning field goal with 1:46 remaining. They then intercepted Jimmy Garoppolo’s belayed Christmas gift while he was being hit by Donald to win it.
The Bengals matched a conference championship round record by bouncing back from an 18-point deficit to upset the Chiefs 27-24. They are headed to Super Bowl LVI, which seem unlikely when they were losing 21-3 and Mahomes was playing like a man possessed. It even seemed as if the coin toss might be the death knell for the Bengals. But the Cinci got a stop, and Burrow got the ball back and won the game
