The sports bookmakers favorite the Green Bay Packers along with Aaron Rodgers used to run the NFC North. They won the title for four years in a row and were always the most bet on team with online sports betting sites. Last season they did not manage it though and will be desperate to win it back this time around. Minnesota Vikings success was in large part down to the return of their star player Adrian Peterson who at 31 years old, many thought would be past his best. He excelled in his defensive play which helped them all the way to the top spot.

It was a closely fought contest between the Packers and Minnesota last season with one win separating the two teams. The teams in the NFC North are at the highest possible level and on their day anyone can beat anyone. Due to this, it is one of the most bet on with sports bookmakers as the odds are greater than others.

Below we take a look at the two favorite online sports betting teams for the top spot in the NFC North.

Green Bay Packers

You would be crazy making online sports betting on the NFC North without putting a bet on the Green Bay Packers. They have been in the top spot 4 out of the last five years and will be the favorites to win it again this season. Their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers had a poor season last year compared to his usual high standards. His favorite wide receiver was missing but this time around he is back so if the two can get in tandem again, they will be very tough to stop.

The Packers are a team of champions and leaders and last season will have hurt them badly. This time around they will not make the same mistakes and I can see them winning by at least two if not more games. The Vikings if they play to the best of their ability though will give them a good run for their money.

The Packers have one of the best defenses in the NFL and are ranked 12th. Last season they only allowed 20.2 points scored against them per game. With their solid defense and an offense at full strength, once they get in front they are more than likely to win the game. They are also ranked with online sports betting companies as a favorite to win the Super Bowl.

Minnesota Vikings

Adrian Peterson is one of the best-running backs in the NFL and even though he is now 30, he seems to improve each season. If The Vikings are going to claim top spot they will need their star man to stay injury free all season.

Teddy Bridgewater the Vikings quarterback has shown bags of potential and now it is time to deliver. If he can get the ball to Peterson as often as possible they are in with a very good shot at surprising everyone again. Peterson will be a well-marked man this season so he will need lots of support from his teammates to act as blocks for him if he is to get 327 carries or more again this season.
