The Cowboys are slight favorites according to the best online sportsbooks. The Oklahoma State football team goes into bowl season ranking No. 21 in two of the three major polls released on Sunday.
OSU ranks at No. 21 in the USA Today Coaches Poll as well as in the final College Football Playoff rankings. The Cowboys were ranked in every issue of the CFP rankings during the 2020 season.

For the 15th straight season, Oklahoma State will appear in a bowl game. The Cowboys have accepted an invitation to play Miami in the Cheez-It Bowl. The kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. CT on December 29 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The game will be broadcast by ESPN.

This will be OSU’s third appearance in an Orlando-based bowl. The Cowboys also appeared in the 1976 Tangerine Bowl. as well as the 2017 Camping World Bowl. They won both games. The 15-year bowl streak is the longest in program history and the seventh-longest active streak in NCAAF.

The Cowboys (7-3 overall; 6-3 Big 12) rank No. 21 in the final set of College Football Playoff rankings. They head into game after finishing the regular season in the top three in the Big 12 standings for the eighth time in the last 10 years.

OSU’s defense has been outstanding through the regular season. It ranks No. 1 in the FBS in defensive TDs. It also ranks No. 2 in third down defense and in the top 12 in tackles for loss and sacks.

The offense features Biletnikoff Award semifinalist Tylan Wallace. It ranks in the Big 12’s best in rushing offense, first downs and third down conversion percentage. OSU has won three of its last four bowl games. And four of its last six bowl games. Among all FBS teams with a minimum of 20 bowl games, OSU’s 63.3 winning percentage ranks fifth.
