Betting Minnesota Vikings

The Vikes are road dogs at the best online sportsbooks. The Minnesota Vikings are coming into the 2023 season in hopes of surpassing a strong 13-4 record in 2022. They won their first NFC North division pendant since 2017.

However, the Vikes’ run in the postseason was brief. The Vikings were knocked off by the Giants in the Wild Card round with a final score of 31-24. A lot of the offensive attack remains intact, led by quarterback Kirk ‘Kissin’’ Cousins and current offensive player of the year Justin Jefferson.

There also major losses. Adam Thielen, Dalvin Tomlinson, Patrick Peterson and Eric Kendricks are no longer on the roster, having become free agents. They also traded top pass rusher Za’Darius Smith. The Vikings hope that the arrival of players such as Alexander Mattison and rookie receiver Jordan Addison will help fill the voids.

Addison, though, is a question mark following some issues off the field in July. The defense has the has the chance to improve under new coordinator Brian Flores, and there is a lot of room for improvement.
The Vikings became the first team in league history to be outscored in the course of a season (with a -3 point differential and an 11-0 record in games that were decided by eight points or fewer) with 12 or more wins in a regular season.

Minnesota has gone 1-5 ATS in their last six games. The total has gone OVER in seven of Minnesota’s last eight games. Minnesota has gone 12-4 SU in their past 16 games. The Vikings have gone 4-8 SU in their last 12 games vs. Seattle.

Minnesota is 5-2 SU in their last seven games on the road. Minnesota is 1-6 SU in their last seven games when playing on the road vs. Seattle. The total has gone OVER in four of Minnesota’s last five games playing against an opponent in the National Football Conference.

Betting Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are home faves according to the best NFL gambling sites. The Seattle Seahawks raised some eyebrows when they let go of longtime quarterback Russell Wilson, but head coach Pete Carroll maintained that he knew what he was doing and apparently, he did.

The Seahawks returned to the postseason with a 9-8 record and finished second in the NFC West division. Like Minnesota, the Seahawks were a flash in the pan in the postseason and were eliminated by San Francisco 41-23 in the Wild Card game.

It will certainly be of interest to learn what we are going to get in 2023 after Geno Smith had a banner year. He threw for 4,282 passing yards through the air and 30 touchdown scores. The Seahawks found a rising star in their midst with Kenneth Walker III.

The Seahawks employed many of the picks from the Russell Wilson trade to develop what is thought of as one of the best draft classes for any team in the 2023 draft. They took Devon Witherspoon as the 5th pick overall to help what was a middling secondary last season.

They also bolstered the offensive attack with Zach Charbonnet from UCLA joining in to help the backfield as well as Jaxon Smith-Njigba coming in the 20th pick overall from Ohio State to provide Smith with a new weapon at receiver plus DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

It is going to be hard for Seattle to repeat much of the success with the NFC West division pimping up in 2023, but there is an outside chance that the Seahawks are going to be as good in 2023, if not better.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Seattle Seahawks Pick

Most of the games in the preseason fall into the same outlook for us. That is, take the team with the greater depth, and in our humble opinion, that’s the Seattle Seahawks on both sides of the ball.

Additionally, Kevin O’Connell went 0-3 ATS in his first year as the head coach in the preseason last year, but Pete Carroll has accrued a 26-19-1 record ATS in his career in the preseason. We think that Carroll, a master of the pep talk, is going to come out full throttle in this one, preseason or not, so take the Seahawks.
