Week 12 of the NFL starts early with a triple-header this Thanksgiving. We can’t promise that the games are going to be any good as four of the teams playing are in the bottom-half of the NFL Power Rankings. But for fantasy purposes, running backs may just go wild on this one.

We can check the NFL betting lines to find player props on the BetUS sportsbook beginning with the lucrative odds of which player will score the first touchdown of the game. Get rewarded up to 28 times your wager when you call who gets first dibs this Thursday as we preview the games.

Player Props: Which Players Get First Bite Of Turkey?

Picking which player scores the first touchdown is one of the most difficult yet exhilarating shots you can take when betting on the NFL. With over a dozen potential scorers, the odds of correctly picking the touchdown-scorer are not in our favor — but we only need to nail one big target to cover the entirety of this preview.

So without further ado, let’s pick one player from each team to get the first nibble of that juicy turkey.

Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions NFL Odds by BetUs

Team SP/RL TOTAL ML
Bears -3½ ( -110 ) 41½ ( -110 ) -185
Lions +3½ ( -110 ) 41½ ( -110 ) +155

Bears

Starting off with the low-hanging fruit, Bears’ running back David Montgomery should be able to run it down the Lions’ throat. Detroit is giving up the most rushing yards at home (156.3) and have the worst red zone (RZ) defense, with nearly 80% of opponents’ possessions ending in paydirt when in range. Montgomery should open up the scoring as Chicago’s best player on offense.
Pick: David Montgomery (CHI) +375

Lions

On the flipside, if it is Detroit who scores first, it will also likely be on the ground. The Lions average the fewest rushing yards (75.5) at home but Chicago is prone to getting shredded when on the road. Like Montgomery, Swift has been Detroit’s best player and his six touchdowns off scrimmage are triple of what the next teammates have.

Pick: D’Andre Swift (DET) +800

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Dallas Cowboys NFL Odds by BetUs

Team SP/RL TOTAL ML
Raiders +7½ ( -110 ) 51 ( -110 ) +275
Cowboys -7½ ( -110 ) 51 ( -110 ) -345

Las Vegas

DeSean Jackson could not have found a better fit than with the Raiders. This is a “boom or bust” type of offense and Jackson can only score in highlight-reel type of throws. Even after a disastrous debut against the Chiefs, Jackson and the Raiders’ staff appear to be in a better place. This team is desperate for a win and Dallas’s passing defense is not exactly bulletproof. At 28-1, this is worth a shot.
Pick: DeSean Jackson (LV) +2800

Dallas

From a home run swing to a base hit, we’re targeting Ezekiel Elliott for the Cowboys. He still has tremendous value at +550 given he leads the Cowboys in red zone completions (10-of-11) and is tied with CeeDee Lamb in targets. The Raiders have the second-worst RZ defense and Lamb (concussion) is on the mend. Elliott could get the lion’s share of the RZ scoring starting with the first one of the game.
Pick: Ezekiel Elliott (DAL) +550

Buffalo Bills vs.  New Orleans Saints NFL Odds by BetUs

Team SP/RL TOTAL ML
Bills -7 ( -105 ) 45 ( -110 ) -290
Saints +7 ( -115 ) 45 ( -110 ) +235

Buffalo

The Bills’ offense is struggling this season. But one good thing that’s been consistent is the brotherly chemistry between quarterback Josh Allen and receiver Stefon Diggs. The star wideout has the second-most targets (23), completions (15), and touchdowns (6) in the red zone this year. And as we all know, Diggs has a habit of scorching the Saints with three scores in two games against them.
Pick: Stefon Diggs (BUF) +750

New Orleans

This is a crapshoot as the Saints’ offense is in shambles right now. Running backs Alvin Kamara (knee) and Mark Ingram (knee) are banged up and quarterback Trevor Siemian may just be benched thanks to playing terribly. But if he isn’t, Marquez Callaway has been a favorite target of his having thrown a touchdown to him in three straight games. His NFL odds are worth a bet just for this reason.
Pick: Marquez Callaway +1400
