Betting Charlotte 49ers

The 49ers blew out Massachusetts 52-17 as 21-point home chalk, according to the best online sportsbooks. UNC’s three QBs combined for fewer than 200 passing yards. However Charlotte still managed to score three TDs through the air. On the other hand, the 49ers gained 338 yards on the ground. Running back Benny LeMay led the team with 113 yards while Ishod Finger had two rushing TDs. Charlotte ranks 7th in the country in ground yards per game (296.7). All told, UNC outgained its opponent by 271 total yards.

Here are some Las Vegas sports betting sites trends. UNC is 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win. 4-1 ATS in their last five games on the road. 7-3 ATS in their last 10 overall games. And 5-12 in their last 17 non-conference games.

This may or may not be, should Charlotte win, “college football’s greatest upset ever.” However, head coach Will Healy – “a Dabo Swinney wannabe” – has a much more modest goal. Namely, “At some point in time, let’s get them to punt the football to us … To me your goal is, let’s stay in there as long as we can, and let’s see what happens.”

Betting Clemson Tigers

The Tigers obliterated Syracuse 41-6 as 28-point road chalk. It almost goes without saying that Clem covered the Las Vegas sports betting sites spread. Almost, which is why I went ahead and said it regardless. Starting QB Trevor Lawrence passed 22 of 39 for 395 yards with three TDs and two picks. Wide receiver Tee ‘Hee’ Higgins had 150 yards on seven catches, while Amari Rodgers added 121 yards and two TDs on four receptions. Running back Travis Etienne had 76 yards on 14 carries. On defense, Clemson held the Orange to a negligible 15 rushing yards. The Tigers have the 14th best rushing offense, allowing just 75.0 yards on the ground per game.

Clem is 5-1 ATS in their last six overall games. 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up win. 6-2 ATS in their last eight games after an ATS win. And 7-3 ATS when playing a team with a winning record.

The 49ers might be happy making the Tigers punt, but Coach Swinney expects a lot more from them. “This is a team offensively that is going to challenge us. Very impressed watching them on tape. This is the most explosive team we have played to this point. This is the best rushing team we’ve seen in three games. Their ability to run the ball and how they’re coordinated to run the ball. Their running back is a tough, thick, physical runner,” Swinney said. “This is a team that could embarrass us if we don’t have a great week of preparation, because they’re a different type of challenge than we’ve seen.”

Swinney may have already embarrassed himself by speaking those words. He does have a point, though. Charlotte is pretty good at running the ball. But then, Clemson is not half-bad at stopping the run, either. And speaking of running, Etienne is due for a big game. Finally, there’s Lawrence, of whom Healy said “You hope Trevor is off. Either that, or maybe he just takes the week off — one of the two.” He was joking, of course. Or was he? All things considered, I’m going to have to take Clem and the points.
