Virginia is one of the few teams that everyone can agree about in the NCAA Tournament. As both regular season and tournament champions of the ACC the Cavaliers left no doubts. Boasting the top defense in the land they suffocate the most talented of opponents. And regardless of what types of betting sites they were listed at Virginia was highly profitable. In fact, few teams ruled the cashier’s cage like the Wahoos. With all of that in mind and more UVA is the top seed in the entire NCAA Tournament. Additionally, they are the top seed in the South Regional.

Dallas will host two games on Thursday as well. #6 Miami-Florida will face #11 Loyola Chicago. And #3 Tennessee faces #14 Wright State. On Friday there are four more games. Charlotte gets #1 Virginia vs. #16 UMBC. Additionally, #8 Creighton will take on #9 Kansas State. Nashville will host #7 Nevada vs. #10 Texas. That is followed by #2 Cincinnati vs. #15 Georgia State. The winners will advance to games on Saturday and Sunday.
Virginia is the favorite at all types of betting sites. Yet they may not be the most popular choice. Defensively oriented and not flashy they lack the flash that casual fans flock too. Which is what makes the Cavaliers such a strong betting value. Head coach Tony Bennett’s team lost only nine of 30 games vs. the line this year. However, there is no getting around their subpar offense. Worrisome to gamblers is that the Cavaliers are not a gifted or complete team. Yet the results cannot be disputed.
Tennessee will garner attention as the SEC regular season co-champions. Covering 18 of 31 lined games the Vols were dependable. Head coach Rick Barnes also has a strong defensive team. Creighton is an interesting commodity in that they upset Villanova last month. Few teams are as high scoring as the Bluejays. But defensively Creighton is a disaster. Kansas State is plucky with a good defense that covers for inconsistent scoring. KSU covered five of their last eight games down the stretch. Texas is a reach with a record of 19-14. As a middle of the pack team in the Big 12 the Longhorns were discreet. Perhaps their large fan base is the REAL reason they got in.
Cincinnati will bring plenty of respect at Mybookie sportsbook. UC was the regular season and tournament champs of the American Athletic Conference. Most impressive is that the Bearcats were second only to Virginia for team defense. Kentucky is a blue blood that won the SEC Tournament after a regular season slump.
