Offshore sportsbooks odds favor the Auburn Tigers over the Purdue Boilermakers by 3.5 points. Auburn finished fifth in the SEC’s West division with a 7-5 record (3-5) in conference play. The Tigers also went 5-7 ATS in the regular season. They’re coming off a 21-52 loss to Alabama as 26-point road dogs. This will be Auburn’s sixth straight bowl appearance and second Music City Bowl.

Purdue finished third in the Big Ten’s West division with six wins and as many losses (5-4 in conference play). The Boilermakers had a 7-5 ATS record as well, according to the best online sportsbooks. They’re season-closing game was a 28-21 win over Indiana as 3.5-point road chalk. This will be Purdue’s second straight bowl bid under head coach Jeff Brohm, and their first Music City Bowl.

Betting Purdue

The loss of defensive tackle Lorenzo Neal has forced defensive line coach Reggie Johnson to tinker with the starting lineup. And tinkering he has been for about a month. “The window does help us,” Johnson said. “It’s unfortunate for him but again, we still have to play a game here in a few weeks and guys have to step up. “We have to do a great job preparing them and they have to do a great job of absorbing it all and competing. We’ll see how it all shakes out on the 28th.” Neal had 30 tackles this season (17 solo and 13 assisted) and one sack. Sophomore Anthony Watts is expected to take over Neal’s position, while defensive end Giovanni Reviere moves inside.

On offense, starting QB David Blough has 25 TDs and eight picks on 3521 passing yards. His favorite target is Rondale Moore. He has 12 TDs and 1164 yards on 103 catches. DJ Knox has eight TDs on 868 yards on the ground.

Betting Auburn

There probably are legal online sports betting odds on whether Gus Malzhan will remain the Tigers’ head coach next season. Auburn athletic director acknowledged as much in an open letter. However, he also reiterated his support of Coach Malzhan. “Unfortunately, maximum effort does not always equal maximum results,” Greene said. “Still, outcomes matter and at Auburn, we expect to deliver.” Tigers fans likely hope they start delivering as soon as possible. ´perhaps beginning with the Music City Bowl?

Starting QB ‘Jeff’ Jarrett Stidham has 13 TDs and five picks on 2421 yards through the air. Ryan Davis has 523 yards on 64 receptions. Seth Williams has five TDs on 479 receiving yards. JaTarvious Whitlow has four TDs on 777 rushing yards.

Our Game Prediction:
Auburn played in the Sugar Bowl in 2016 and the Peach Bowl in 2017. Life ain’t so sweet and peachy for the Tigers anymore. So there is chance they won’t take the ‘umble Music City Bowl too seriously. Meanwhile, Purdue has a chance to win bowl games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1997-98. I think the B-Makers will be more motivated than the Tigers. And as such, they will win and cover the offshore sportsbooks spread.
