The Denver Broncos are favored at home on Monday night as they host the Houston Texans in Brock Osweiler’s return to Denver. The Texans have found a way to win four of their six games this season while the Broncos are also 4-2. Both teams are stout on defense so this could be a low scoring game. Oddsmakers have set the total on this one at 40.5. Let’s look at the matchup and Monday Night NFL picks.

This game in Week 7 of the regular season is set for Monday, October 24, 2016, at 8:30 pm Eastern on ESPN.

Denver Odds in Favor of the Broncos for Monday Night Football -7.5, 40.5

Texans vs. Broncos

The big story on Monday is the return of Osweiler to Denver. He spurned the Broncos in the off-season and went to Houston so he is not likely to get a good reception on Monday. “We know he left us. It is what it is,’’ said Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. “I’m pretty sure he wants to win. We want to beat him bad. Get a lot of interceptions.’’

The Broncos say they don’t have any personal bad feeling against Osweiler but they definitely want to beat him. “At the same time, it’s competition and we want to shut him down. Just because it’s Brock.” Linebacker Brandon Marshall said, “We know Brock. He came from here and we just want to kill him. That’s what we want to do.’’

Denver feels like they know what is coming with Osweiler and that they will have a lot of success against him. “We know Brock likes to hold the ball, so we feel like we can get a lot of good pressure on him, man,’’ Marshall said. “Just watching their offense I think this is going to be a great week for us.’’

The Broncos lead the league with 21 sacks this season so they should have a good night against Houston on Monday.

On the other side, the Broncos have been going with Trevor Siemian who has played well taking over at quarterback this season. He was hurt against Tampa three games ago but played last week against San Diego even though he wasn’t completely healthy. He has looked better this week throwing the ball. The Broncos may not have left tackle Russell Okung who is in the concussion protocol.

I can’t see any way the Texans can win this on the road with Osweiler going against the Denver defense. I will lay the points at sports betting sites and take the Broncos.
