Sportsbook sites favor the Houston Texans by 6 points over the Tennessee Titans. The best online sportsbooks had Tennessee as 1.5-point road dogs versus Indianapolis following the former’s fluke win over New England. After the Colts routed the Titans 38-10, the point spread has gone back to normal for Tennessee. Especially considering Marcus Mariota left the Indy game pretty banged up. Head coach Mike Vrabel “said he is hopeful Mariota will play when the Titans visit Houston,” per Yahoo Sports. Well, Bears head coach Matt Nagy hoped Mitch Trubisky would play on Thanksgiving and we all saw how that turned out. Actually Chicago still won. And the Titans defense is almost as good as the Bears’. On the other hand, Tennessee’s offense is nowhere near as good as Chicago’s. Which is pretty much the case with Houston, which brings us back to this game.
Betting Tennessee Titans
According to Sports Illustrated, we have not seen the best of Marcus Mariota yet. And we probably won’t see it either this Monday. The Titans listed him as limited on Thursday’s injury report. Mariota experienced a stinger against the Colts and is on a week-to-week basis. Add to that his shoulder injury from earlier in the season. He clearly won’t be 100% even if he does play versus the Texas. Which matter little since the Tennessee ranks 30th in the league with just 183.7 passing yards per game. The Titans offense, as it were, is predicated on their No. 15 run game. According to sportsbook sites, The Titans are 7-0 ATS in their last seven Monday night games.
Betting Houston Texans
And speaking of the ground attack. The Texans’ offense, also as it were, is also fueled by their No. 10 run game. Running back Lamar Miller had 86 yards on 20 carries in the latest of Houston’s seven straight wins. “Yeah, we have to be able to run the football,” head coach Bill O’Brien said. “We can’t stand back there and throw it 60 times. If that’s what we have to do, then that’s what we’re going to have to do, but we really need to be as balanced as we can. Those guys have done a good job. They ran really hard against Washington, got some yards on their own.”

Betting Trends
- Tennessee is 6-3 ATS in its last 9 games
- Tennessee is 2-4 SU in its last 6 games
- The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Tennessee’s last 6 games
- Houston is 4-11 ATS in its last 15 games
- Houston is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games
- The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Houston’s last 6 games
Our Prediction: These two teams are practically interchangeable. The Texans’ QB is a gonna-be and the Titans’ QB is a never-was. But they are at a point in their upwards and downwards trajectory that matches them up nicely. Both QBs certainly lead offense that are barely worthy of that name. And both teams’ defenses are among the best in the league. What it all comes down to is that Houston has the better record. Thus, I’m going to have to pick them to win and cover. However, the one thing users of sportsbook sites can expect with death-and-taxes certainty is the total going under. The Texans rank 16th in points per game with 23.9. Meanwhile, the Titans score just 17.8 points per game, ranking them No. 28. Conversely, Houston allows just 20.5 points per game (5th). And Tennessee concedes only 18.9 points per game (2nd).
