Betting Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are three-point-plus road favorites at the best online sportsbooks. The 2022 season will be the Kansas City Chiefs’ 53rd in the NFL, 63rd overall, 10th under head coach Andy Reid, and 6th under general manager Brett Veach.

The Chiefs look to improve on their 12–5 record from 2021, win their seventh consecutive AFC West division title, reach their fifth straight AFC Championship and their 3rd Super Bowl in four years.

In the offseason, the Chiefs traded wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. Hill was with the Chiefs since 2016. «I feel like when the Kansas City Chiefs traded me I kind of took that personal. So now what really motivates me is I feel like they basically just threw me to the side, like I was trash or something,» Hill said.

The Chiefs began the 2021 season 3-4 but finished the regular season 12–5. They won the AFC West division title for the sixth season in a row. The Chiefs reached their fourth straight conference championship. They lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in OT 24–27.

This was the final season with long-time wide receiver Tyreek Hill. He was traded to the Miami Dolphins on March 23, 2022. A six-time Pro Bowler in his time with Kansas City, Hill’s last game with the Chiefs was on January 30, 2022, the abovementioned AFC Championship Game against the Bengals.

Head coach Andy Reid posted his 100th win as Chiefs head coach on October 3, 2021, a 42–30 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Reid became the first coach in league history to win 100 games as a head coach with several teams and the first to lead several teams to four straight Conference Finals. He previously did so with the Eagles from 2001 to 2004.

Betting Arizona Cardinals

The Cards are slight home dogs according to the best sportsbooks. The 2022 season is the Arizona Cardinals’ 103rd in the NFL, 35th in Arizona, and fourth under head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

The Cardinals improved on their 8–8 record from the previous year last season with a 23–13 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11. The Cardinals went 7–0 for the first time in 47 years back when they were based in St. Louis.

With their week 11 win against division rivals the Seattle Seahawks, the Cardinals improved on their record from the previous season and secured their first winning season since 2015. Despite losing to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16, the Cards clinched a postseason berth for the first time since 2015 after the Minnesota Vikings fell to the Los Angeles Rams.

Despite a 7–0 start and acquiring J. J. Watt and A. J. Green before the season started, the team suffered their second straight late-season collapse. They lost four out of their last five games and dropped to the fifth seed.

In the Wild Card playoffs, the Cardinals lost to the Los Angeles Rams who were on their way to win Super Bowl LVI. In the offseason, Patrick Peterson left to free agency after 10 years, and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald opted not to sign with any team following 17 years with the franchise.

Arizona Team Status

The Arizona Cardinals seemed to have worked out their cornerback rotation for when the season starts. However, their best laid plans might have to change. Antonio Hamilton, who poised to win the second starting cornerback spot opposite Byron Murphy, is now dealing with some sort of injury or illness.

Last week, he was not practicing in Arizona when he had a doctor’s appointment, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury. He also failed to practice in Nashville and sat out of the last preseason game, though he likely would have skipped it anyway.

Hamilton could miss the season opening game, according to Kingsbury. He told team reporters that Hamilton’s situation was “an unexpected situation and makes the numbers look really thin looking at Week 1 possibly.”

Kingsbury kept mum about what the problem. He indicated that it would appear on the injury report leading up to the season opening contest. If Hamilton cannot play in Week 1, it will challenge a secondary against a team that has one of the most dangerous passing games in the league.
