The Green Bay Packers are looking to protect their unbeaten season’s home record Saturday night, hosting the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs bookmakers have Green Bay as firm favorites to advance, but the 49ers have their share of respect going into the tough conditions at Lambeau Field.

---|---|---|---|---|

49ers Looking to 404 Packers
It would make a great story if the San Francisco 49ers sent the Packers packing, especially after San Francisco eliminated Dallas last week.
It would be a story few saw coming, but the 49ers, having turned their season around, have a legitimate chance of advancing.
NFL odds have the 49ers at +210 in outright markets, so there have been some takers. That’s not a surprise after they knocked out the Cowboys, 23-17, on the road as a +3½-point underdog.
It was the Niners’ third consecutive win, having beaten the Rams (in LA, in OT) a week prior, which serves as an excellent form guide. There are some statistics favoring the 49ers, including a 4-0 record against the spread in their last four divisional-round games.
They are also 8-0 ATS in their last eight January games, so the Packers need to play well to advance.
Jimmy Garoppolo hasn’t needed to be special, which is one reason for their success. There were times when he thought he needed to be a superstar, but making solid plays is all that’s been required.
“Guys just stepping up big in big key situations, that’s really what it was all day,” Garoppolo told ESPN. “Early on, we got it rolling with the offense and the defense just throughout the entire day. We got some dogs on our defense, man. It’s fun.”
San Francisco is 7-3 on the road and 10-8 ATS overall. Beating Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in Wisconsin is their toughest assignment, though we had the same trepidations prior ro San Francisco beating the Cowboys. We think it will be a low-scoring game, so the 49ers under 20½ points looks like a safe bet, given the conditions.
Pick: San Francisco 49ers – Team Total Under 20½ (-115)
Rodgers’ Swan Song?
People were talking about Aaron Rodgers leaving the Green Bay Packers after a dreadful opening-week performance against New Orleans, but how he and the team turned it around.
The Packers are back to their best, and although we’re not suggesting it could be Rodgers’ last game in a Green Bay uniform, it is a distinct possibility.
He won’t want to go out against the 49ers, so bettors expect Rodgers and the Packers to leave the gate humming.
They are the favorites with NFL betting markets for a reason, and that stems from stellar play at home. Green Bay is undefeated at Lambeau Field and it loves the conditions.
Not only have the Packers been terrific at home, but they have been excellent for bettors. They are 12-5 ATS overall, despite not covering in three of their last four games.
They took their foot off the gas a touch in some late-season games, but bettors should expect the Packers to be at their best. A statement win came against the Vikings. The 37-10 rout showcased everything good about the Packers, especially in cold conditions.
“Last year, we did not get that good Green Bay weather,” Aaron Rodgers told ESPN. “Tonight was one of those nights. We haven’t had a game like this in a while temperature-wise. This was different. It is different, the whole feel of it. I feel like teams can break a little bit easier when it is this cold.”
We like the Packers to win and cover the -6 NFL spread. They are a dominant team at Lambeau Field, and although the 49ers are confident, we can’t pick against the Packers in a favorable position.
It’s an interesting line, but we’re happy to lay six instead of seven.
Pick: Green Bay Packers -6
Packers Lead From the Outset
There are many NFL bets to place at the sportsbook, including the halftime/fulltime double.
We think the Packers will have a healthy halftime lead, keeping the 49ers at bay in the second half.
Bettors get even money for the double, a prop wager worth adding to your NFL selections.
Pick: Double Result – Packers/Packers (Even)
