NFL gambling sites favor the Kansas City Chiefs to win the AFC Championship. That would be their second straight – and second ever – American Football Conference title. Next season will be starting QB Pat Mahomes’s fourth and final of his rookie contract. Word is that KC is going to exercise its fifth-year option for the Super LIV MVP. Moreover, the Chiefs are reportedly planning on offering Mahomes a record-breaking contract extension that would pay him at least $40 million per season.
Kansas City Chiefs
Mahomes became the first-ever NFL player to win league and Super Bowl MVP honors before turning 25. He has completed almost 66% of his passes with 76 touchdowns and 18 interceptions in the last two regular seasons. Mahomes threw 10 touchdowns and just two interceptions in the last playoffs, and lead Kansas City to a comeback victory over the 49ers in Super Bowl XLIV. Barring any unforeseen event, the best online sportsbooks will continue to favor the Chiefs as long as Mahomes is on the roster.
Baltimore Ravens
AFC Ravens literally ran through the opposition. They rushed for 206 yards per game and for a total of 3,296 yards. Two of their rushers registered more than 1,000 yards. 2019 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson rushed for 1,206 yards and seven touchdowns. Running back Mark Ingram rushed for 1,018 yards and 10 touchdowns. Gus Edwards rushed for 711 yards and five touchdowns. And Justice ‘One Tree’ Hill rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns. Hey, every yard counts.
The Ravens used their second pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to select running back J.K. Dobbins. The message is clear. The Ravens want to sustain and surpass the pace of their rushing next season. “We were ecstatic to get J.K.,” general manager Eric DeCosta said. “He was by far – by far – the highest-rated guy that we had on the board. We kind of felt like he fell out of the sky right to us, the type of team that we are to get a running back like that.”
Odds to Win the AFC Championship:
Team | Odds |
---|---|
Kansas City Chiefs | +350 |
Baltimore Ravens | +400 |
Buffalo Bills | +1100 |
New England Patriots | +1100 |
Buffalo Bills
AFC Bills ahead of the Patriots on NFL gambling sites? It truly is a brave new world. Surely that newfound favoritism has not a little to do with the addition of star receiver Stefon Diggs. “You look at the production that Stefon has experienced over the course of his career, that speaks for itself. He’s played in big games. He’s had big roles in those games,” head coach Sean McDermott said. “We believe that, and it’s been shown and proven to this point, people are able to come to Buffalo and become the best version of themselves. He’s certainly been awfully good to this point.”
New England Patriots
And speaking of NFL gambling sites and the Pats, New England is a favorite to sign veteran free agent Andy Dalton. That is one race you do not want to win. It’s bad enough that Tom Brady left for Tampa Bay, but that doesn’t mean that the QB positions has suddenly become meaningless. Tyler Dragon of the Cincinnati Enquirer reported that “The Jaguars and Patriots are among the teams interested in Andy Dalton, per a source.” Please, just let the Jags have him. Compared to Blake Bortles, the Red Rifle will seem like, well, Tom Brady. Seriously though, there appears to be no reason for concern. It looks as if the Pats would rather stick with Jarrett Stidham over not just Dalton but also Cam Newton.
Our Pick: Brady’s departure for Tampa has made it official. The Patriots’ hegemony has come to an end. This is Mahomes’s, and by extension, the Chiefs’ time.
