When I was playing, every day was live,” head coach Dabo Swinney said. “(Coaches) had to tell you, ‘Hey, it’s not live.’ Now you’ve got to say, ‘It’s live.’ I think this is a tough group. I thought they would be a physically tough group, but until you really go play and you really turn it loose, the game is just different than all on your feet and thud-type contact. It’s physical, but it ain’t like this. We’ve got a tough group. We’ve got a tough group on both sides of the ball. So I’m pleased with that. “Good on good, it was incredibly competitive.”
Swinney got his first good look at the team in action the latter Saturday when the Tigers had their first scrimmage of the preseason camp.
Betting Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team represent the Georgia Institute of Technology in the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Yellow Jackets play their home games at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. They compete as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They are led by head coach Geoff Collins, in his fourth, and last season.
On July 18 Georgia Tech unveiled a new uniform set. The uniforms were manufactured in partnership with Adidas, which has provided Tech with uniforms and apparel since 2018. The uniforms are more conventional than the prior set.
Design elements were taken from previous sets of football uniforms. There are 3 jerseys, white, navy, and a gold alternate. The white tops include gold numbers with a thin navy outline. This is reminiscent of uniforms from the late 90’s and early 00’s.
The navy tops feature white numbers with a gold outline. This is different from the past set which featured gold numbers with no outline. The navy uniforms seem to be a throwback to the uniforms Tech used from 1987-1995.
They are known for winning the 1990 National Championship. The third jersey is gold with navy blue numbers. Tech has used gold tops now and then since the late 60’s. It is unclear if they will be coupled with a white helmet or Tech’s traditional gold helmet.
The jerseys will have numbers on the shoulders for the first time since 2017. The uniforms have three pant alternatives in the same colors. The bottoms have a stripe design that Tech wore on its pants from 1987-2007. Tech unveiled the uniforms with videos featuring narration from past legends Joe Hamilton and Darren Waller.
