Perhaps this isn’t the greatest time for the Miami Dolphins to find themselves going up against the Buffalo Bills at the NFL betting Week 8.
It’s one thing that Buffalo has scored 90 points over the last two meetings. But the team’s quarterback has found himself in the middle of trade rumors.
A 10-6 record last season gave the team a lot of optimism. But after beating the Patriots in the opener, they’ve lost six in a row. It’s probably beyond pushing the panic button. The season is far gone, at least as far as the playoffs are concerned. And it’s time to look toward the future.

Football Betting – Watson to Miami Dolphins?
This has been going on for months. DeShaun Watson, who is currently facing 22 civil lawsuits brought by women, is being dangled by the Houston Texans. Not that they wanted to trade him, but he wants out of the franchise. He would waive his no-trade clause to get to Miami. But Dolphins’ owner Stephen Ross wanted to get a better idea of what Watson’s legal situation was. Obviously he’d like to know whether he’d be available to play if the trade was made, or even next year.
We’re not so sure he’s getting any special information there, and that could kill the deal.
Football Betting – So who still has a future?
The problem with some of this is that Tua Tagovailoa was the team’s first-round draft pick last year. And he was supposed to be the guy they built the offense around. And he’s had to sit around and listen to all of this.
It’s kind of humiliating for a guy who they have promoted as a team leader. But Tua has handled this rather well. He’s completed almost 70% of his passes, although perhaps the seven yards per attempt may be a concern. And that may explain the interest in Watson.

Flores is one guy who may be on thin ice. Reports out of Miami are that he has alienated some players with an impersonal style. And one year after the team looked as if it was on a big upward trajectory, he’s headed downward.
The same can be said for general manager Chris Grier. And maybe some of this has to do with the way all of this has been handled. It’s just bad “optics.” For what it’s worth, Tua has handled the whole situation better than management (or ownership) has.

Utilizing drive stats, the Dolphins are 29th out of 32 teams in yards allowed per drive. That’s a big downer for the defense, which lost some veteran leadership in the off-season. Meanwhile, Buffalo is second in the NFL in points scored AND points allowed per drive.
Part of the difficulty Miami has faced involves their lack of a ground game. The Dolphins are 31st in rushing,and it’s not getting better. That was a huge headache for them in the first meeting. That’s when Jacoby Brissett, who had to fill in for an injured Tua, led the team to 216 yards of offense.
Brissett was safety-first. But Tua is also not a guy who is going far down the field on a regular basis.
