The 2017 online NFL betting season kicks off this week and there’s no better way to get ready for another thrilling season of USA sportsbook action than by wagering on some of this weekend’s contests. The league has gone all out by booking some pretty appealing matchups right off the bat, like opening day’s matchup between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs.
But despite how attractive that matchup is, there is another contest pitting two playoff caliber teams against each other. Albeit, these teams hail from the NFC rather than the AFC.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Green Bay Packers – Sunday, September 10th
Venue: Lambeau Field, Green Bay
Start Time: 4:25 pm ET
TV Broadcast: Fox
Online Streaming Options: Fox Sports Go, NFL Game Pass
Anyone who has wagered on some offshore sportsbook lines during the NFL playoffs in the last decade knows that Seattle and Green Bay often cross paths during the playoffs. Both the Hawks and the Pack have been dominant in their division as of late, which means that their playoff meetings are essentially inevitable.

But that’s not necessarily a bad thing as it has allowed a bitter postseason rivalry to flourish. Except this time, USA sportsbook players don’t have to wait until the playoffs to watch these two go head to head. There’s no question that this will be an excellent matchup. The only inquiry remaining is who will come out on top.
USA Sportsbook Odds
Seattle Seahawks +3 (-110) 50 ½ (-110) +140
Green Bay Packers -3 (-110) 50 ½ (-110) -160
The Packers come into this game as the rightful online sportsbook favorite, considering that Green Bay is coming off a better season.
The Cheeseheads were able to deliver a 10-6 season in 2016 that gave way to a 1st place finish in the NFC North. Once in the playoffs, the Packers had to face the New York Giants in the divisional round. Thanks to an impressive toss from #12, Green Bay had little difficulty defeating New York 38-13. A week later Rodgers once again pulled some magic to help the Packers defeat the Cowboys in the divisional round 34-31. That’s as far as the team would get however, as they suffered a devastating 21-44 loss in the championship game to the Atlanta Falcons. Green Bay had 4 players selected to the Pro Bowl and 2 AP All-Pros.
The Seahawks had a successful season in 2016 as well. Seattle finished the year with a 10-5-1 record that allowed them to win an NFC West title. The Hawks faced the Detroit Lions in the NFC Wild Card round and defeated Matt Stafford and company 26-6. The following week Seattle would be eliminated by the Atlanta Falcons 20-36. The Seahawks had 7 players elected to the Pro Bowl and 2 AP All-Pros.
Best Online Sportsbook Bets to Make: Since the Packers are listed as the underdog by the top sportsbook sites, fans might be better off betting on Seattle. This game will be extremely tough to predict however, so fans might want to stick to the spread instead of the money line.
