Alabama QB Bryce Young stands as the odds-on fave to be selected as the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, according to NFL gambling sites. The odds, however, are not as clear when we look at No. 2 and No. 3.
Young was the underdog to Ohio State QB CJ Stroud for the top slot a month ago at the best online sportsbooks. Stroud was standing at -300 on March 13, and Young was slotted behind at +300. The Panthers are currently holding the No. 1 pick. The Texans are standing at No. 2, and the Cardinals sit at No. 3.

Bryce Young
If Bryce Young had the same college tape and resume but he was 6-foot-3, he would be the undisputed No. 1 pick. However, he is a 5-foot-10 quarterback who is looking to do like Russell Wilson and demonstrate that size doesn’t matter.
The winner of the 2021 Heisman Trophy has undeniable skills. It appears as if the only hurdle on his way is whether his height will be an issue at the pro level or not. The current NFL player Young has been compared most to is Kyler Murray.
That comparison could have more to do with their height than their any other trait. Murray is much faster (4.38 40-yard dash), but Young (4.52 seconds) is a much better passer with a top-notch arm compared to Murray.
C.J. Stroud
C.J. Stroud does not use his legs as often as Richardson or Young do, but he is slippery whenever he does. Stroud’s arm and his brain, however, are the reason that he is been legitimately deemed a potential No. 1 overall pick as well as a franchise QB for years to come.
There is no throw Stroud can’t make. He is the best friend a wide receiver could ever have best. He routinely puts the ball, almost like clockwork, exactly where it has to be with awe-inspiring consistency.
Teams that have skill-position players who excel in space following the catch might want Stroud even more for this reason.
Anthony Richardson
Although Stroud and Young have been receiving all of the attention this offseason as a potential No. 1 overall pick, Richardson has been slowly climbing up NFL gambling sites’ draft odds-boards. He now finds himself as a possible top-five pick.
Like Josh Allen before him, Richardson has elite arm strength and size but he faces questions regarding his accuracy. Talent scouts and experts used to think that it was nigh impossible to teach accuracy because of the laundry list of college QBs who have struggled with precision passes in college and never got any better in the pros.
A team with a good quarterbacks coach who is confident in its ability to develop QBs will take a stab at Richardson, and it might pay off abundantly.
Will Levis
Erstwhile NFL General Manager Michael Lombardi recently said that he thinks that Will Levis may be the second QB that will be taken in the draft, and that Stroud could drop from the top 10. Levis’ best NFL comparison is probably Jay Cutler.
The two have the prototypical size and plenty of confidence to make tough throws that often result in interceptions. Levis did not put up impressive numbers last year (19 TD, 10 INT) but he played through injuries, and that makes him a polarizing prospect.

The Houston Texans have the No. 2 overall pick. They need a franchise quarterback following the DeShaun Watson debacle. It seems as if the Texans will draft whichever elite QB Carolina passes on, but now rumor has it that the Texans might be draft a defensive player instead.
While Stroud was the clear favorite at NFL gambling sites a week ago, things have changed dramatically in this market. Will Anderson is now the favorite after he was +500 only a week ago. Watch out for Tyree Wilson, whose number has dropped from +700 to +300.

The Cardinals have the No. 3 overall pick. There are rumors saying that they are looking to trade back to the highest bidder. The betting market appears to be telling us that the Cardinals will be trading their pick because Anthony Richardson is the favorite, but then the Cardinals already do have a franchise QB in Kyler Murray.
If the Cardinals do not trade the pick, expect them to go on defense with Anderson or Levis. Could Jalen Carter be a dark horse at +1200, though?

If the Indy Colts were to pick C.J. Stroud in this spot it would be a coup that ought to leave their fans happy as a clam. Only a few weeks ago, Stroud was deemed the No. 1 pick, so to nab him as the fourth overall without having to trade up should be a dream come true. Stroud is currently sitting at +700 to go fourth overall.

The Seattle Seahawks could go any number of different ways with their pick, but Wilson (not Russell, mind you) is what makes sense here. The Seahawks signed Dre’Mont Jones and Jarran Reed for their defensive line this offseason, but they still need an elite pass rusher who is able to command double teams and take over games. Hence, Tyree Wilson. In ten starts his senior year, Wilson had 14 tackles for loss and seven sacks.
