The 2023 Masters tournament is about to start and the buzz for this event is palpable. Not only is it the official arrival of spring, The Masters always carries extra energy as the first major tournament of the year. It has become more of an event, not less, in recent years when the major tournament calendar has been adjusted to put the PGA Championship in May instead of August. This creates a shorter major-tournament season from April through July instead of lengthening the major-tournament year through mid-August.

With Tiger Woods back in the fold as well as the LIV Tour players, it should make for an interesting event. BetAnySports.eu has all sorts of odds, props and futures up for the event. Let’s take a look at who is a good bet to win it all:
The Favorites at Masters 2023
It is widely viewed that three players stand above the rest of the field heading into Masters Week: Jon Rahm (+850), Scottie Scheffler (+650) and Rory McIlroy (+750). Rahm has won three tour titles this season and will naturally be viewed as a main contender. However, some health problems cast a cloud over his condition for this week and his overall readiness to play. Scheffler and McIlroy are the two other top-tier favorites, given that they have won tour events in the young 2023 season.
Scheffler won the prestigious Players Championship and is the defending Masters champion, with an agile game made for Augusta with its wide variety of holes that place emphasis on a short game and overall versatility.
Rory McIlroy is a gifted shotmaker who has knocked on the door at some of the biggest events on tour over the past few years but has not been able to break through to add to his major title haul. This could be the moment McIlroy takes the next step toward golf immortality. These three players are seen as being a cut above the rest.
Sleepers And Longshots
The other prominent players in a tier below Scheffler, Rahm and McIlroy include Cameron Smith (+3500), who won the most recent major championship at the British Open last summer at St. Andrews. Jordan Spieth is always a threat to do something special at a major tournament. He will be firmly in the mix. Xander Schauffele, Tony Finau, Max Homa, and Patrick Cantlay will be hungry for their first major and therefore have to be seen as legitimate contenders, even though they have never lifted a major trophy. One of them is going to break through before too long.
It seems as though Bryson DeChambeau is not made for Augusta, since his game is too limited for a course that calls for a lot of different skills and capacities. Yes, DeChambeau can crush the ball over 300 yards off the tee and generate a lot of distance on par 5s and long par 4s, but Augusta requires an ability to hit the ball at angles and to also lay up short of a creek or water hazard, such as the 13th and 15th holes, which are par 5s but not holes where a player can simply blast the ball on a straight line. Those holes don’t work that way. DeChambeau’s distance makes him an interesting profile for a golfer, but more of a dark horse rather than a leading contender at Augusta. Brooks Koepka can be viewed similarly.
