Betting San Francisco 49ers
The best online sportsbooks have San Fran as a seven-point road favorite. The 2022 season is the San Francisco 49ers’ 73rd in the NFL, 77th overall, and sixth under the head coach/general manager duo of Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch.
The Niners improved from their 6–10 record from the previous year last season. They returned to the postseason following a one-year absence. After a Week 9 loss to an undermanned Arizona Cardinals, the 49ers were 3–5.
They rebounded and ended the season winning seven of their last nine games, including a Week 18 win against the Los Angeles Rams that saw the 49ers rally from a 17–0 deficit to win 27–24 in OT. This allowed them into the playoffs.
During the season, the 49ers displayed a well-rounded team. They finished top 10 in both total offense and total defense. The offense averaged 376 yards per game, ranking 7th in the league while scoring 25.1 points per game.
The defense allowed just 310 yards per game, ranking 3rd overall. This included the 6th pass defense and 7th rush defense. The defense had 48 sacks during the season, ranking 5th in the league. In the Wild Card Round, the 49ers beat the Dallas Cowboys 23–17. They would then defeat top-seeded Green Bay Packers 13–10 in the Divisional Round. Also, they advanced to the NFC Championship for the second time in three years. They lost to division rivals and eventual Super Bowl winners Los Angeles Rams 17–20.
Betting Chicago Bears
The Bears are home dogs according to the best offshore gambling sites. The 2022 season is the Chicago Bears’ 103rd in the NFL and first under GM Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus. They will attempt to improve from their 6–11 record from the 2021 season.
The Bears finished their final season with head coach Matt Nagy with a 6–11 record. They failed to improve on their 8–8 record from the previous season, and did not return to the playoffs. Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace were fired on January 10, 2022, and replaced with two other guys also named Ryan and Matt. That’s odd.
The Bears have a big question mark at wide receiver. N’Keal Harry sustained an ankle injury on August 6 and is expected to miss the beginning of the regular season. Byron Pringle could miss the start of the season too. He is dealing with a quad injury. Rookie Velus Jones Jr. and veteran Tajae Sharpe are sidelined with undisclosed maladies.
David Moore was put on injured reserve on Sunday. The Bears have six healthy receivers in Mooney, Equanimeous St. Brown, Dante Pettis, Chris Finke, Isaiah Coulter and Kevin Shaa. “Injuries are a part of the game,” St. Brown said. “I’ve been injured. When people get injured and go down, the next person has to be ready and has to know what they’re doing.”
St. Brown has emerged as a dependable target for second-year QB Justin Fields. Fields has noted St. Brown’s comfort in new OC Luke Getsy’s scheme. St. Brown played for Green Bay for the last four years, three of those were under Getsy.
Chicago Bears Stats
St. Brown had just 37 catches and one TD in 37 games with the Packers. He struggled to establish himself in the Packers’ offensive plans. Also he has a new chance now with the Bears. “He really doesn’t make mistakes when it comes to running the plays,” Fields said. “He’s definitely always in the right spot and knows where to be on certain plays. He’s a weapon in this offense, for sure.”
If St. Brown can offer consistency and production for the team, the receving unit will become less concerning. With the injuries to key players at the position, though, Fields and the offense are already turning to St. Brown more than they would have anticipated.
Pettis has 52 receptions in four seasons. Finke, Coulter and Shaa have never been targeted in a regular-season contest. Poles and the Bears are likely to be active on the waiver wire after the deadline next Tuesday. There will be a lot of receivers available for them to choose. Even though those players will have been cut for a reason, Chicago could nonetheless find the missing piece.
