Betting Arkansas Razorbacks
The R’Backs are the underdogs per the best gambling sites for College Football. Not so long ago, the Razorbacks were a cash cow for college football gamblers. They covered eight straight games going back to last season. But if you got off the Arkansas point gravy train too late, you’ve given back some of those earnings.
They are 1-3 ATS and 0-4 SU in their last four games. Their single cover came by a half-point in a 50-48 loss to Missouri. The defense has been torn badly in that period. They have allowed at least 50 points in three of those four games.
Allowing 50-pointers to Florida or Alabama is one thing. but it’s more difficult to process allowing 50 points to a Missouri offense that scored 20 or fewer in seven of its 10 games this season. To be fair to Arkansas, the program has been hit hard by COVID-19. Also, injuries in the past month have affected quarterbacks Feleipe Franks and K.J. Jefferson. And star middle linebacker Grant Morgan, center Ricky Stromberg and tight ends Hudson Henry and Marcus Henderson.
First-year head coach Sam Pittman said that his team should be near to full strength for the Texas Bowl. Nonetheless, late-season issues aren’t a novelty in Fayetteville. Arkansas has gone 2-9 SU and 3-8 ATS in its past 11 December games. The Hogs have also not covered their past six bowl games as an underdog. They are 0-8 SU in their past eight playoff games when they are catching points.
Betting TCU Horned Frogs
The Froggers are the favorites as established by the best gambling sites. The Horned Frogs will not have two of their key offensive elements in the Texas Bowl. Tight end Pro Wells decided to skip the rest of the season to prepare for next summer’s NFL draft. Offensive coordinator Sonny Cumbie left the team after accepting a similar job this month at Texas Tech.
TCU still has dual-threat sophomore QB Max Duggan. He led the team in rushing with 526 yards and 10 TDs. Running backs Darwin Barlow, Zach Evans and Kendre Miller have a total of over 1,200 yards and 10 TDs. The Horned Frogs led the Big 12 in rushing with 214 yards per game.
The Frogs head into bowl season with a lot of momentum. They went 5-1 SU and ATS down the stretch. They outscored their last three opponents 140-55. On defense, TCU has held seven of its last eight opponents to 24 or fewer points. However, senior linebacker Garret Wallow, who led the team in tackles this season, and junior safety Trevon Moehrig could do like Wells and skip the game and focus on next year’s NFL draft.
