Martin Truex Jr. +500
Truex is the favorite to win the race, according to the best online sportsbooks. He is coming off a sixth-place finish at the 2020 Coca Cola 600, also held at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Truex has three wins in that racecourse. The 2016 and 2019 Coca Cola 600, and the 2017 Bank of America 500. Additionally, he finished 2nd in the 2018 Coca Cola 600 and 3rd in the 2017 Coca Cola 600 and the 2015 Bank of America 500.
Truex has seven Top-5 finishes in his last nine starts at Charlotte. He led 116 laps in his win a year ago. He has dominated Charlotte as of late with laps led of 131, 0, 392, 0, 233, 91, 0, 116, and 87 in his last nine starts. Truex has also qualified 14th or worse in his last three races there. The mixture of Gibbs’ speed on intermediate tracks and Truex’s dexterity on this type of raceway has become a winning combo.
Kyle Busch +600
Busch is the second-favorite at top offshore sportsbooks. He has finished 4th or better in four of his last five races. Busch has been the runner-up thrice at Charlotte, in the 2010 and 2011 Bank of America 500, and the 2017 Coca Cola 600. He has finished 3rd on five other occasions; the 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2019 Coca Cola 600, and the 2007 Bank of America 500. He won the Coca-Cola 600 in 2018 and has led one lap, 63 laps, 22 laps, 377 laps, and 79 laps respectively in his last six Charlotte starts. Busch currently ranks 9th in the Cup Series standings and has yet to pick up a win this season, but that could change on Wednesday night.
Chase Elliott +600
Elliott came in second in the 2020 Coca Cola 600. That’s his second place in Charlotte, the first coming in the 2017 Bank of America 500. Furthermore, he won the 2019 Bank of America Roval 400. And finished 4th in the 2019 Coca Cola 600. Elliott hasn’t won this season, but he’s had the speed to be competitive. If circumstances had gone his way, he would have won the previous two races this season. But then, that’s a big ‘if’.
Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski +900
Harvick enters Wednesday as the current leader in the driver standings. However, that doesn’t necessarily make him the favorite of top offshore sportsbooks. He does have three career wins at Charlotte, but the most recent came at the 2014 Bank of America 500. Harvick only has one win in seven races this season, but he has been in the top 5 five times. It would be wise to ignore Keselowski considering he just won the 2020 Coca Cola 600. It was his second career win at Charlotte, but it’s no secret how hard it is to win consecutive races in this sport. Even more so when there are just a few days between races.
