NFL betting sites already have their favorites to start off the 2019 NFL season on the right foot. This will be the National Football League’s 100th season. As such, the defending Super Bowl champions – the New England Patriots – will not play in the kickoff game. Instead, the Chicago Bears will host the Green Bay Packers. The best online sportsbooks favor the Bears by four points.

  • 2019 National Football League season
  • Regular season
  • Duration: September 5, 2019 – December 29, 2019

All Week 1 games will take place on the accustomed Thursday, Sunday, and Monday slots. However, the NFL has apparently decided to compete with college football. Actually, only three games will be played on a Saturday in Week 16. It’ll still feel awkward, though.

The Packers hired new head coach Matt LaFleur following two seasons of wither. LaFleur is new, though, in more ways than one. This is his first head coaching gig after being a journeyman OC/QB coach for the past decade. Needless to say, this does not fill NFL betting sites with confidence. Then again namesake Matt Nagy turned the Bears around last season in his head coaching debut year, so you never know.

The Pats are favored by a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Meaning that Rob Gronkowski’s retirement has barely registered at NFL betting sites. Like Luke Perry (RIP) in Beverly Hills 90120, Gronk went from being a main character to a guest star. The Patriots have signed Matt LaCosse, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, and Benjamin Watson to add depth to the tight end position.

The Saints were robbed of a Super Bowl berth last season, and they’ll be looking to take their frustrations out on the Texans. New Orleans very rarely loses at home and had the best offense in the league last season. Meanwhile, Houston found its footing last season, but Deshaun Watson could still learn a thing or two from Drew Brees. And Breesus will be happy to oblige, I’m sure.
