Philadelphia 76ers (20-31) vs. Milwaukee Bucks (27-23)

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Milwaukee Bucks February 9 2025 – Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks are going head-to-head in an important game for both teams. The Bucks are struggling a lot right now as they have lost five out of their last six games, but their record was fine before this. On the other hand, the 76ers are also in a downward spiral as they have lost four out of their last five games. Given how poorly both of these teams have been playing, expect both to be looking for a statement win which should make for an exciting game in Milwaukee. Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee is expecting tip-off right at 2:00 PM ET.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Milwaukee Bucks Betting Odds

Team Moneyline Spread Total
76ers +115 +2.5 (-110) Over 225.5 (-115)
Bucks -135 -2.5 (-110) Under 225.5 (-105)

Oddsmakers have the Bucks as slight 2.5-point favorites on their home court, a line that reflects both teams’ recent struggles. Given Milwaukee’s 8-2 record in their last 10 home games against Philly, the spread makes sense. However, Milwaukee has failed to cover in their last six games, making them a risky pick. The total is set at 225.5, which feels fair considering both teams’ defensive inconsistencies. Bettors should take note of Philly’s recent OVER trend (4 of their last 5) and Milwaukee’s tendency to hit the OVER (10 of their last 15). With both teams showing vulnerability on defense, the OVER might be the safest play.

Tyrese Maxey (PG) vs. Damian Lillard (PG)

Tyrese Maxey has stood out elevating his game to new heights for the Sixers this season. As the team’s primary scoring option, he averages 27.8 points per game while playing almost 38 minutes a contest. Maxey’s efficiency has certainly been solid, but his greatest asset is his ability to attack the rim as well as create offense on fast breaks. Unfortunately, he has to deal with the Bucks’ size in the paint which will force him to primarily rely on his outside shooting and playmaking. His assist-to-turnover ratio shows he is making good decisions with the ball (2.5), but he is up against one of the most battle tested point guards in the league.

Milwaukee has not been an exception with Damian Lillard carrying majority of the offensive load while averaging 25 points and 7.5 assists per game. Lillard’s deep shooting range remains a weapon that puts him at the top of his game. On the other hand, with the Sixers perimeter defense at times malfunctioning, he is guaranteed to have a field day. His free throw ineffectiveness (73.4%) along with the slight dip in his overall game provides the Sixers with a window to capitalize. Philly has the opportunity to apply pressure on Lillard forcing him into tough shots in order to disrupt Milwaukee’s offensive rhythm.

Philadelphia 76ers Can They Break the Losing Cycle

Philadelphia has been struggling to find consistency. Their last five games have been a rollercoaster, including a narrow win over Dallas (118-116) but losses to elite teams like Boston and Denver. Defensively, they’ve been inconsistent, allowing an average of 124 points per game over their last three losses. With rebounding issues and defensive lapses, they’ll need to tighten up, especially against Milwaukee’s outside shooters.

Milwaukee Bucks Searching for Defensive Stability

Milwaukee’s recent stretch has been concerning. They have dropped five of their last six, including blowout losses to Oklahoma City and San Antonio. Their defense has been suspect, allowing opponents to put up big numbers. Despite their home-court advantage, the Bucks’ inability to close out games has been their Achilles’ heel. They’ll need to re-establish their defensive identity if they want to avoid another letdown.

Philadelphia 76ers Betting Trends

Philadelphia has been a frustrating team for bettors. Their 6-12 ATS record in their last 18 games signals a lack of reliability. They’ve struggled immensely against the Bucks, losing six straight outright and covering just once in their last six head-to-head meetings. However, their trend of hitting the OVER recently could make that the most enticing bet here.

Milwaukee Bucks Betting Trends

The Bucks are also in a slump, failing to cover in their last six games. However, they have been much better at home, going 6-1 ATS in their last seven games at Fiserv Forum. Historically, they’ve dominated the Sixers on this floor, winning 8 of the last 10 home matchups. Their OVER trend (10 of last 15) aligns well with Philadelphia’s recent high-scoring affairs.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Milwaukee Bucks Betting Preview

This game is sure to be a show between the two teams that are fighting for some attention. Milwaukee has always held the edge in this matchup, but they do have some defensive issues. If the Sixers can pick up the pace, get Maxey going, they can cover the spread and win. But if Lillard steps up and Milwaukee does get some defense playing, I think they should take care of business at home.

The spread is somewhat confusing for both teams because they have been so inconsistent lately. A better bet might be OVER at 225.5 since both teams have been scoring a lot lately. If prop bets is what you are after, then doing Maxey points over could work depending on how much he has to do offensively.

Score Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks 117, Philadelphia 76ers 112.
