In this rematch that follows Pereira’s KO win at UFC 281, the challenger Adesanya is a -138 favorite at the best gambling sites. Meanwhile, “Poatan” comes in at +110 at the best online sportsbooks. Alex Pereira (7-1, 4-0 UFC) is all set to defend his UFC title for the first time at UFC 287 on April 8 versus Israel Adesanya (23-2, 12-2 UFC), the guy that he took the belt from a couple of months ago.

There were rumors about Pereira, who has a 3-0 record against Adesanya (including two wins in kickboxing), going up to the light heavyweight division at some point, but he will first have to put his 185-pound title on the line against one of the top middleweights in promotion history.

Betting Alex Pereira

The disrespect is a fact for Alex Pereira. He closed the UFC 281 match as a +180 dog at the best gambling sites. Now, as the champion, he is still the dog, albeit by a slighter margin. We have seen the Brazilian beat Izzy three times, but their last fight was a slobber knocker in Adesanya’s favor until the last few minutes.

Pereira never lost his spirit and bested Adesanya in the final minutes of the fifth round for a rallying upset. The second UFC match has Izzy as a favorite at –138. And why not? He is the more well-rounded martial artist of the two. However, don’t be surprised if the line, which had Adesanya at -160 earlier, continues to move in Pereira’s favor as we near UFC 287.

Betting Israel Adesanya

In the previous bout, Israel Adesanya found a road to victory with takedowns and wrestling in the second and third rounds. “The Last Stylebender” took Pereira to the mat, and the Brazilian never did find his way back up to his feet.

As Izzy wrapped his arms around him and put pressure on him, Pereira tried to fight himself to his feet. He pushed with all his power and tired himself out in the process. Adesanya has to remember those exchanges for this here rematch.

He can’t hang with Pereira in a kickboxing match ( of which he has lost three) so he has to get on the canvas and make it bowling shoe-ugly fight. Clinching, tripping, grounding, and pounding should all be part of Izzy’s arsenal this time around.

It appeared at times during the UFC 281 fight that Adesanya was a little too complacent. He had cleaned out the middleweight division, and few fighters could touch him. Unsurprisingly, when Adesanya hit combos on Pereira (particularly in the first round), he didn’t go in for the kill.

Part of that is because of Pereira’s awesome punching power, but Adesanya has plenty of lengths and striking know-how to knock the Brazilian out on his arse. Pereira is a conventional kickboxer. He stands up quite tall with his guard high and his elbows tucked in tight.

Izzy is notorious for spinning strikes, question-mark kicks, and unforgiving blows to the body. We need to see more out-of-the-box fighting if he wants to take down Pereira and reclaim his UFC championship belt.

UFC 287 Pereira vs. Adesanya Pick

We are psyched for this rematch. Like the last time, we expect it to be a very tightly contested bout. If both men still had not gotten a feel for each other before, now there is no way they don’t. With 4 UFC fights on his resume, Pereira has adjusted to the style of MMA.

Meanwhile, Izzy, with his high fighting IQ, will close any gaps in his game. All things considered, we think that this fight is going to go to a decision, though we are comfortable betting OVER 3.5 rounds and OVER 4.5 rounds so as not to get too greedy. For the victor, we are taking Pereira based on a combination of winning experience against Adesanya and underdog value at the best gambling sites.

UFC 287: Pereira vs. Adesanya 2 will be an upcoming mixed martial arts event that is produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. It will take place on April 8, 2023, from the Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Florida, United States. The event is going to mark the promotion’s second trip to Miami as well as the first since UFC 42 in April 2003.

A UFC Middleweight Championship rematch between champion Alex Pereira (an erstwhile Glory Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Championship holder) and previous champion Israel Adesanya is expected to be the main event.
