Week 6 of the 2017 online NFL betting season is around the corner sending US online sportsbook players are scrambling to find the best lines for this weekend’s action. Bettors looking for a predictable matchup need look no further than this Sunday’s pairing between the Denver Broncos and the New York Giants. New York has failed to win a game this season and it’s more than doubtful that they’ll get it against the 3-1 Broncos, especially with Denver coming off a Week 5 Bye. Let’s see how big of a blowout top sportsbook betting sites are predicting.
Betting New York
At 0-5, the Giants are wishing the 2017 season had never commenced to begin with. New York suffered their biggest loss of the season this past Sunday. Not because they lost 27-22 to the San Diego Chargers, but rather because the team lost both Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall, the team’s two starting receivers. Without OBJ and Marshall in the lineup, US online sportsbooks are expecting the Giants offense to take a dip. Which is quite a problem for the franchise, considering they currently have the league’s 28th worst scoring offense.
The best sportsbook players should shy away from taking the Giants this Sunday. But if you have to take New York, you should take them on the spread. Yea those +489 odds look tempting, but there’s little hope Big Blue can pull it off. Rather, New York might be able to cover that 11 ½ point spread. The Giants are 2-3 against the spread this season, but they are 2-1 against the spread on the road. Defensively the Giants are giving up around 24.4 points per game, which is close to the 24.5 points the Broncos offense is averaging per game this season. Barring a shutout the Giants should be able to keep it under a 2 possession finish. Throw in the fact that New York has lost their last three games by 5 points or less, and it’s clear that the spread line for the Giants is a decent option.
Betting Denver
The Broncos ride into this Sunday’s contest sporting a 3-1 record that ranks them 2nd in the AFC West behind the still undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos lone loss of the season came at the hands of the Buffalo Bills in Week 3, 26-16. Other than that outing, Denver has looked spectacular. Their defense is as foreboding as ever considering they rank 7th in the NFL in points allotted per contest. Furthermore, the Broncos rank No. 1 in total defense as well as run defense. Being able to stop the run is one of the best attributes a defense could possess and throw in some very talented cornerbacks and it’s easy to understand how the Broncos are so dominant defensively.
Picking the Broncos straight up is the best bet to make on this particular matchup. There’s no doubt Denver will come out on top; the Broncos’ defense is too strong and their offense is more than capable of outscoring the lowly Giants. However, those -670 odds on the money line are anything but lucrative. But it’s inarguably one of the safest bets you can make for Week 6.
US Online Sportsbook Betting Lines:
New York Giants +11 ½ (-115) 39 ½ (-111) +489
Denver Broncos -11 ½ (-105) 39 ½ (-109) -670
