Betting Oklahoma Sooners

The Sooners bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 42-41 win over Iowa State. That was close. Too close in fact for the best online sportsbooks. The Oklahomies entered last weekend as 14.5-point home chalk but failed to deliver the goods once again this year. Starting QB Jalen Hurts went 18 of 26 for 273 yards with three TDs and one pick.

He added 68 yards and another two scores on 22 carries. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had 167 yards and two TDs on eight receptions. Running back ‘Mr.’ Kennedy Brooks had 132 yards and one TD on 15 carries. OU is 5th in the country in passing yards per game (338.1). And No. 1 in total offense with 587.3 all-purpose yards per game. On the other hand, the Sooners defense allowed 477 total yards, including 282 through the air.

Oklahoma is, per the College Football betting sites, 1-4 ATS in the last five games overall. And 4-9-1 ATS in the last 14 on the road. The under is 4-1 in the Sooners last five road games.
“(The) inability to tackle and falling down in coverage, (those are) things that can’t happen, shouldn’t happen,” defensive coordinator Alex Grinch. “We can have a good week of practice, (but) it doesn’t matter if you don’t tackle on Saturday. We’re not seeing the same urgency, intensity and obviously execution for four quarters, so we’ve got to do a better job as coaches.” OU’s defense better step up if they want Grinch’s heart to grow three sizes in time for Christmas.

Betting Baylor Bears

The undefeated Bears beat TCU 29-23 as two-point road faves last Saturday. Starting QB Charlie Brewer had 195 yards passing – with one pick – and 41 rushing for a combined three TDs. Wide receiver Denzel Mims had 57 yards and two TDs on six catches. The Bears rank 25th in total offense with 459.6 yards per game. Baylor’s defense intercepted opposing QB Max Duggan thrice and sacked him as many times. The Bears were outgained on the ground 168 yards to 99. Baylor usually allows fewer rushing yards – 127.1 (31st).

The Bears are 6-1 ATS when playing a team with a winning record. And 4-10 ATS in their last 14 at home. The under is 7-3 in the Bears last 10 conference games.
“Beating TCU is not only unimpressive, but it’s now officially a detriment to your place in the football world. Baylor defeated TCU on the road in three overtimes Saturday, and somehow did not move up in the College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night.

Baylor dropped from No. 12 to No. 13 in the latest poll. Baylor, hire a lawyer now. You know how this goes. Don’t be surprised if Baylor defeats Oklahoma on Saturday in Waco, the Bears fall out of the Top 25,” reports the Forth Worth Star-Telegram.

Oklahoma Sooners vs. Baylor Bears NCAAF Game Pick

I don’t know about the latter, but the former could very well come to pass. Especially with the Sooners’ defense allowing 44.5 points per game, as it did in their last two games. The Bears are, within the confines of the Big 12, nothing extraordinary on either side of the ball. But they have enough to stay within the point spread set by the College Football betting sites. As long, that is, as Oklahoma doesn’t snap out of that defensive funk.
