It’s quite possible that the NFL betting Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles could play each other for the NFC title. The last time that happened was 2017 (technically early 2018). At that time the quarterbacks were Nick Foles and Case Keenum. Now both have been relegated to backup Siberia elsewhere.
As BetAnySports customers probably know, the Vikings and Eagles are tied for the league’s best record. And they will try to stay in position for home field advantage as they play separate opponents on Sunday. Interestingly, the New York Giants could tie for the NFC East lead if they win and the Eagles lose.
Let’s look at a few of the games that impact the division races:

Yeah, we remember last year’s meeting. That’s when Cooper Rush, filling in for the injured Dak Prescott, led his team to a 20-16 win. That required the ‘Pokes to come from behind. And maybe there’s a little payback motive for the Vikes.
We must also acknowledge two other things. One is that a series of extraordinary events had to take place to allow Minnesota to score a big upset in Buffalo. And also, this is a team that has to guard against “letdown syndrome.” Know what we mean?
We don’t want to diminish the fact that the Vikings rebounded from a 17-point deficit against a power team. And that they had 479 yards against an elite defenive unit. Or that the Cowboys couldn’t “finish” against the Packers, who had only recently posted nine points against a Detroit team with the league’s best defense.
Minnesota has its full complement of weapons on hand. And that includes tight end TJ Hockenson, acquired from Detroit. The Vikings are tied for the NFL’s best record, yet they’re a dog at home against an erratic opponent.

Detroit Lions at New York Giants Odds by BetAnySports
Team | SP/RL | TOTAL | ML | |
---|---|---|---|---|

Giants | -3 ( -110 ) | 45 ( -110 ) | -170 | |

Stop the presses! The Lions have now won two games in a row. Their problem, though, is that their defense is sive-like. They rank last in yards and points allowed. And yielding 5.3 yards per carry, it’s inviting for Saquon Barkley, who had 152 yards vs. Houston last week.
The Giants (7-2) have some new life under Brian Daboll. But at the same time, they’ve also allowed 5.5 yards per rushing attempt. So there is the possibility that Jared Goff can work some play-action. And that is one area in which he hasn’t done too badly (almost nine yards per attempt). All Detroit has to do is scrape together a ground attack.
Let’s keep in mind that the Lions have lost games to four different division leaders (Seattle, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Miami) and stayed within four points with all of them. And emotional Dan Campbell should keep their heads involved all the way to the end.

Jeff Saturday won over some people last week. That is, aside from social justice warriors. And “traditionalists” who believe an assistant should have gotten Indy’s interim job. Now let’s see him pull off another surprise. It may not be the best timing for him. The Eagles are coming off its first loss, and prior to that, a flat effort vs. Houston.
The Colts got a special effort from Matt Ryan. The former MVP went 21 of 28 for 222 yards. He also scored a TD and made another 38-yard run. Jonathan Taylor had 147 yards on the ground, and the Colts tallied 415 yards in all. Many things fell into place against a banged-up Las Vegas team. But they still needed a touchdown with five minutes left for a come-from-behind win. So keep that in mind.
It’s likely that Saturday insisted Ryan get the start last week. Something about the guy who “gives us the best chance to win.” Ryan delivered, but let’s forget that torrent of turnovers and sacks prior to his benching. Philadelphia forces more turnovers than any other team, so this works out nicely for them.
And we won’t buy that Ryan’s troubles had everything to do with Frank Reich. Yeah, that’s the same Frank Reich who, after his firing, will be offering a little “inside info” to his former assistant, Nick Sirianni. Sure, Taylor could do some business. But we’re counting on a Philly bounce-back effort.
