North Dakota State vs. Youngstown State

Twenty-three is a lot of points to lay in what is basically a season opener. However, it’s not surprising considering the North Dakota State Bison are arguably the top team in the FCS year in, year out. They defeated another good team in Central Arkansas even though they held back.

The Youngstown State Penguins should be strong on defense. They have lost much of their production on the offensive side of the ball. It makes betting sites’ users whether they have enough to compete on the road at this juncture.

Pick: North Dakota State -23

Tennessee State vs Jacksonville State

The Jacksonville State Gamecocks have a clear advantage going into this game. They played four games in the fall. Also they went toe to toe against Florida State. They beat FIU. Jacksonville State proved they have skilled players on both sides of the ball. They have earned the respect of even FBS fans, as well as of betting sites.

The Tennessee State Tigers have the potential to hold their own defensively from the start. There are bound some adjustments on the offensive side. Tennessee State is going to look like a completely different team this season on offense.

Pick: Jacksonville State –17

Tennessee Tech vs Austin Peay

The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles are returning much of their production. This could be a good season for them However, the Austin Peay Governors have an edge given. They played three games this fall.  Also they stood their ground against a solid Central Arkansas. They scored 20 points against a ranked Cincinnati school. Playing games this fall provides Austin Peay with a nice advantage. Tennessee Tech has not played an actual game since November of 2019.

Pick: Austin Peay –7

Edward Waters vs. Jackson State

There is a lot of hype surrounding the Jackson State Tigers team. New head coach Deion Sanders has people expecting great things from this team. Sanders’s players are going to put on a fireworks display in this game. Expect Edward Waters defense to remain clueless and Jackson State to come away with a win and a cover.

Pick: Jackson State ATS

Tennessee-Martin vs Eastern Illinois

The Eastern Illinois Panthers return a lot of their production. There is cause for optimism, but let’s not run to put on money on them until we have seen improvement on the field. The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks displayed flashes of greatness last season. They return many key players to where you can expect them to be even more successful. Tennessee-Martin has an opportunity to be really good on offense this season.

Pick: Tennessee Martin –13.5

Lamar vs Northwestern State

The Lamar Cardinals have replaced a lot of production on both sides of the ball. It’ll take them time to put things back together with so many new bodies. The Northwestern State Demons were nothing special last season. For what it’s worth, the defense remains the same for the most part. This gives them a decent advantage over Lamar. It will be an ugly game, but Northwestern State is going to make it competitive until the end. And might even win it.

Pick: Northwestern State +1

Incarnate Word vs Sam Houston

The Sam Houston State Bearkats were the superior team last season. They return enough production on both sides of the ball to like their odds here. The Incarnate Word Cardinals have the potential to improve. They have playmakers on offense. The defense has players who can force turnovers. Sam Houston State should be able to win, but Incarnate Word has what it takes to make the cover.

Pick: Incarnate Word +12
